What are the majority of bone cancers?
Malignant and maily occur as secondary tumors from other cancers
Benighn tumor that devlops adjacent to growth plates
Occurs most often between 10-20 years of age
Osteochondroma
Malignant, aggressive tumor that begins in the bone cells, usually in the femur, tibia, or fibula
Occurs most often in children and young adults
Osteosarcoma
Malignant, aggressive tumor that begins in the cartilage cells that are commonly found on the ends of bones
Chondrosarcoma
Most frequently affects older adults
Chondrosarcoma
Malignant, aggressive tumor in which the origin is unknown
Ewing sarcoma
May begin in nerve tissue within the bone occurs most frequently in children and young adults
