Q

The five fingers of evolution and how they can cause changes in allele frequencies

A

The pinky means population can shrink, ring finger is mating, middle finger is mutation, pointer finger is movement, thumb is adaptation.

3
Q

A

Natural selection is not random as genetic drift is random

Q

Asking you to sketch graphs of how allele frequencies may change during natural selection under different amounts of selective pressure

A

On a graph the gene frequency for natural selection is almost always going to be the opposite of one another meaning one gene will increase and one gene will decrease.

Q

Asking you to sketch graphs of how allele frequencies may change due to genetic drift in smaller vs. larger populations

A

In graphs genetic drift would be at random, so in a smaller population the more drastic the gene frequency is going to be so on the graph it will either go up quickly or decrease quickly, than went it is a larger population the graph is more neutralized.
