1
Q

What happens with electrons during ionic, polar covalent, and nonpolar covalent bonds

A

Ionic polar covalent one atom completely transfers electrons to one another creating oppositely charged ions that will attract eachother. Polar covalent bonds electrons are shared unequally between atoms, leaving partial positive and negative charges.

Q

Differentiate between a polar and nonpolar covalent bond

A

Q

When given two atoms, what type of bond will form between them and why?

A

Covalent bond. The difference in electronegativity will determine the type of bond that will form.
