A

The Building Safety Act 2022 improves building safety regulations, especially for high-rise residential buildings.

It creates a Building Safety Regulator,
defines clear legal duties for owners and developers,
introduces a “Golden Thread” of safety information,
and gives residents more rights.

It also extends liability periods for building defects 15 years for buildings have June 2022, 30 years for buildings and protects leaseholders from unfair costs.

At Longfield you discovered there were no safety barriers. Explain what you did in relation to this.
There were no safety barriers nearby for me to erect so I asked someone to keep an eye on the void from a distance to warn any passers by. I then went to the site manager to report the hazard, who logged the incident and they errected a safety barrier and assured me it would not happen again.

Simplified structure The removal of the CDM Coordinator New role of Principal Designer Increased client responsibilities to ensure that construction work is carried out safely. Domestic clients are no longer exempted from the Regs, but their CDM duties are passed on to the Contractor.

I would do a risk assessment and inform a colleague that I was going to be visiting the site.

A legal requirement under CDM Regulations 2015 to notify the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) of the works before the commence. Required for notifiable projects (Either lasts >30 days with 20+ workers at once, or >500 person-days).
