starts within the cervix and moves
up to involve the uterus, fallopian
tubes and ovaries.

A
- third generation cephalosporins (ceftriaxone )
*plus azithromycin or doxycycline

A
- tubo-ovarian abscess
*infertility (recurrent inflammation leads to adhesions )
*ectopic pregnancy
*perihepatitis (RUQ pain ,if liver capsule involvement is present =hospitalization +IV ABX )
