The metaphor, the personification and the alliteration are different stylistic devices.

Each text consists of an introduction, a main part and a final part.

The plot is described in detail in the main part.

6
Q

Gut schreiben

A

Write well
A metaphor depicts something abstract.

A personification gives an object or an animal human characteristics.

Take alliteration as an example: Milk perks up tired men.

A short story packs a lot of action into a relatively short text.

Q

Glaube an Gott. Verzweifle an ihm. Verwirf alle Philosophie

A

Tracks in the snow

When you go up and look around with a deep breath, what kind of guy you are who can climb such heights, you, all alone:
then you will always discover tracks in the snow.

Someone has been there before you.

Believe in God. Despair of him. Discard all philosophy

8
Q

Gleiche Emotionen

Und alle diese Lebensgefühle hat schon einer vor dir gehabt;

A

Same emotions

Have the doctor announce a stomach cancer and know:
there are only four years left and then it will be over.

Believe in a woman.
Despair of her.

Live a life with two women.
Jump into the world.
Withdraw from her …

And someone has already had all these feelings of life before you;
someone has already believed, doubted, laughed, cried and pensively pierced his nose, exactly like that.

There has always been one.

12
Q

Kein Neuschnee

A

No fresh snow

That doesn’t change anything, I know.
You are experiencing it for the first time.

For you it is fresh snow that lies there.

But it is not, and this discovery is very painful at first.

There was once a poor Jew in Poland who had no money to study, but mathematics burned in his brain.

He read what he could get, the few sparse books, and he studied and thought, thought for himself.

13
Q

A

The discovery

And one day he invented something, he discovered it, a whole new system, and he felt: I’ve found something.

And when he left his little town and went out into the world, there he saw new books, and what he had discovered for himself already existed:
  it was differential calculus.
And there he died.
People say: consumption of consumption.
But he didn't die of consumption

Q

Deine Reaktion

A

17
Q

A

Big question

How could it be achieved today that more people around the world have access to the latest learning media?

**

I think it’s easier today than it was before, but governments and schools still have a lot of work to do.

First, everyone should have access to the internet and library systems.

18
Q

Einsamkeit

A

lonliness

It is strangest in solitude.
You’d like to believe that people have their standard experiences in the turmoil.
But when you are as alone as you are, when you meditate like that, take death into account, withdraw like this and try to look ahead:

then one would think that one would be at heights that no one has ever set foot.

19
Q

Ansporn

Klettere, steige, steige.
Aber es gibt keine Spitze.
Und es gibt keinen Neuschnee.

A

Incentive

And there are always traces, and there has always been one, and one has always climbed higher than you ever could, much higher.

Don’t let that discourage you.
Climb, climb, climb.
But there is no tip.
And there is no fresh snow.
