What are the indications for Methotrexate?

What is the MOA of methotrexate?

Folic acid analog that inhibits HGFR, and prevents FH4
Inhibits lymphocyte formation
Activates adensoine pathways

What is the serious adverse effect of Methotrexate?

Neurotoxicity

What is the black box warning for Methotrexate?

Death
Monitor bone marrow, liver, lungs, and kidneys for opportunistic infections
Potentially fatal myelosuppression with NSAIDs. Cipro, and penecillins

What drug combines with Methotrexate to cause elevated levels?

Tetracyclines
