What is sexual reproduction?

The egg leaves the ovary and passes through the fallopian tube
What does the corpus luteum secrete during days 15-28 of the menstrual cycle?
Progesterone
What is the placenta?
A vascular organ attached to the uterine wall during pregnancy
What hormone does the placenta produce?
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG)
What maintains placenta development during pregnancy?
Progesterone
What is the normal delivery fetal position?
Cephalic presentation (head first)
What are the three phases of labor?
- Dilation and thinning of the cervix

Small, mucus-secreting exocrine glands at the vaginal orifice

Lower, neck-like portion of the uterus

Outermost layer of the two membranes surrounding the embryo
