Purpose of washing:
Helps keep the body clean, sweet smelling and free from some disease bacteria
Washing hands with soap + water before meals and after using the toilet:
Helps prevent the spread of germs that might cause serious diseases of the digestive system
Washing armpits, genitals and feet:
Helps prevent the spread of germs responsible for body odour
A daily bath/shower
Rids skin of dirt, salt from dried sweat, flakes of old dead skin, and bacteria that might cause skin infections
Regularly washing hair

Purpose of cleaning teeth:
Removes food and plaque
Plaque
A soft, creamy deposit formed by sweet foods and indirectly causing tooth and gum decay
Toothbrushes:
Clean the surfaces of teeth
Dental floss/toothpicks:
Remove food lodged between the teeth
