Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a mountainside and sat down.

Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them.

The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.

Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.”

Иисус же, призвав учеников Своих, сказал им: жаль Мне народа, что уже три дня находятся при Мне, и нечего им есть; отпустить же их неевшими не хочу, чтобы не ослабели в дороге.

His disciples answered, “Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?”

“How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked. “Seven,” they replied, “and a few small fish.”

Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people.

They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
И ели все, и насытились; и набрали оставшихся кусков семь корзин полных,

The number of those who ate was four thousand, besides women and children.
а евших было четыре тысячи человек, кроме женщин и детей.

After Jesus had sent the crowd away, he got into the boat and went to the vicinity of Magadan.
И, отпустив народ, Он вошел в лодку и прибыл в пределы Магдалинские.

The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven.
И приступили фарисеи и саддукеи и, искушая Его, просили показать им знамение с неба.

He replied, "When evening comes, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,'
Он же сказал им в ответ: вечером вы говорите: "будет ведро, потому что небо красно";

and in the morning, 'Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.
и поутру: "сегодня ненастье, потому что небо багрово". Лицемеры! различать лицо неба вы умеете, а знамений времен не можете?

A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a miraculous sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah." Jesus then left them and went away.
Род лукавый и прелюбодейный знамения ищет, и знамение не дастся ему, кроме знамения Ионы пророка. И, оставив их, отошел.

When they went across the lake, the disciples forgot to take bread.
Переправившись на другую сторону, ученики Его забыли взять хлебов.

"Be careful," Jesus said to them. "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees."
Иисус сказал им: смотрите, берегитесь закваски фарисейской и саддукейской.

They discussed this among themselves and said, "It is because we didn't bring any bread."
Они же помышляли в себе и говорили: это значит, что хлебов мы не взяли.

Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, "You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread?
Уразумев то, Иисус сказал им: что помышляете в себе, маловерные, что хлебов не взяли?

Do you still not understand? Don't you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?
Еще ли не понимаете и не помните о пяти хлебах на пять тысяч человек, и сколько коробов вы набрали?

Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?
Ни о семи хлебах на четыре тысячи, и сколько корзин вы набрали?

How is it you don't understand that I was not talking to you about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees."
Как не разумеете, что не о хлебе сказал Я вам: "берегитесь закваски фарисейской и саддукейской"?

Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Тогда они поняли, что Он говорил им беречься не закваски хлебной, но учения фарисейского и саддукейского.

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?"
Придя же в страны Кесарии Филипповой, Иисус спрашивал учеников Своих: за кого люди почитают Меня, Сына Человеческого?

They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
Они сказали: одни за Иоанна Крестителя, другие за Илию, а иные за Иеремию, или за одного из пророков.

"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"
Он говорит им: а вы за кого почитаете Меня?

Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Симон же Петр, отвечая, сказал: Ты— Христос, Сын Бога Живого.

Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.
Тогда Иисус сказал ему в ответ: блажен ты, Симон, сын Ионин, потому что не плоть и кровь открыли тебе это, но Отец Мой, Сущий на небесах;

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
и Я говорю тебе: ты— Петр, и на сем камне Я создам Церковь Мою, и врата ада не одолеют ее;

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
и дам тебе ключи Царства Небесного: и что свяжешь на земле, то будет связано на небесах, и что разрешишь на земле, то будет разрешено на небесах.

Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.
Тогда запретил ученикам Своим, чтобы никому не сказывали, что Он есть Иисус Христос.

From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
С того времени Иисус начал открывать ученикам Своим, что Ему должно идти в Иерусалим, и много пострадать от старейшин и первосвященников и книжников, и быть убиту, и в третий день воскреснуть.

Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. "Never, Lord!" he said. "This shall never happen to you!"
И, отозвав Его, Петр начал прекословить Ему: будь милостив к Себе, ГОСПОДИ! да не будет этого с Тобою!

Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men."
Он же, обратившись, сказал Петру: отойди от Меня, сатана! ты Мне соблазн! потому что думаешь не о том, что Божие, но что человеческое.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
Тогда Иисус сказал ученикам Своим: если кто хочет идти за Мною, отвергнись себя, и возьми крест свой, и следуй за Мною,

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.
ибо кто хочет душу свою сберечь, тот потеряет ее, а кто потеряет душу свою ради Меня, тот обретет ее;

What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
какая польза человеку, если он приобретет весь мир, а душе своей повредит? или какой выкуп даст человек за душу свою?

For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.
Ибо приидет Сын Человеческий во славе Отца Своего с Ангелами Своими и тогда воздаст каждому по делам его.

I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."
Истинно говорю вам: есть некоторые из стоящих здесь, которые не вкусят смерти, как уже увидят Сына Человеческого, грядущего в Царствии Своем.

After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.
По прошествии дней шести, взял Иисус Петра, Иакова и Иоанна, брата его, и возвел их на гору высокую одних,

There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.
и преобразился пред ними: и просияло лицо Его, как солнце, одежды же Его сделались белыми, как свет.

Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.
И вот, явились им Моисей и Илия, с Ним беседующие.

Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters-- one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah."
При сем Петр сказал Иисусу: ГОСПОДИ! хорошо нам здесь быть; если хочешь, сделаем здесь три кущи: Тебе одну, и Моисею одну, и одну Илии.

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!"
Когда он еще говорил, се, облако светлое осенило их; и се, глас из облака глаголющий: Сей есть Сын Мой Возлюбленный, в Котором Мое благоволение; Его слушайте.

When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified.
И, услышав, ученики пали на лица свои и очень испугались.

But Jesus came and touched them. "Get up," he said. "Don't be afraid."
Но Иисус, приступив, коснулся их и сказал: встаньте и не бойтесь.

When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.
Возведя же очи свои, они никого не увидели, кроме одного Иисуса.

As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus instructed them, "Don't tell anyone what you have seen, until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead."
И когда сходили они с горы, Иисус запретил им, говоря: никому не сказывайте о сем видении, доколе Сын Человеческий не воскреснет из мертвых.

The disciples asked him, "Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?"
И спросили Его ученики Его: как же книжники говорят, что Илии надлежит прийти прежде?

Jesus replied, "To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things.
Иисус сказал им в ответ: правда, Илия должен прийти прежде и устроить все;

But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands."
но говорю вам, что Илия уже пришел, и не узнали его, а поступили с ним, как хотели; так и Сын Человеческий пострадает от них.

Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist.
Тогда ученики поняли, что Он говорил им об Иоанне Крестителе.

When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him.
Когда они пришли к народу, то подошел к Нему человек и, преклоняя пред Ним колени,

"Lord, have mercy on my son," he said. "He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water.
сказал: ГОСПОДИ! помилуй сына моего; он в новолуния беснуется и тяжко страдает, ибо часто бросается в огонь и часто в воду;

I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him."
я приводил его к ученикам Твоим, и они не могли исцелить его.

"O unbelieving and perverse generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me."
Иисус же, отвечая, сказал: о, род неверный и развращенный! доколе буду с вами? доколе буду терпеть вас? приведите его ко Мне сюда.

Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment.
И запретил ему Иисус, и бес вышел из него; и отрок исцелился в тот час.

Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, "Why couldn't we drive it out?"
Тогда ученики, приступив к Иисусу наедине, сказали: почему мы не могли изгнать его?

He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. "
Иисус же сказал им: по неверию вашему; ибо истинно говорю вам: если вы будете иметь веру с горчичное зерно и скажете горе сей: "перейди отсюда туда", и она перейдет; и ничего не будет невозможного для вас;

Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
сей же род изгоняется только молитвою и постом.

When they came together in Galilee, he said to them, "The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men.
Во время пребывания их в Галилее, Иисус сказал им: Сын Человеческий предан будет в руки человеческие,

They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised to life." And the disciples were filled with grief.
и убьют Его, и в третий день воскреснет.И они весьма опечалились.

After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax came to Peter and asked, "Doesn't your teacher pay the temple tax?"
Когда же пришли они в Капернаум, то подошли к Петру собиратели дидрахм и сказали: Учитель ваш не даст ли дидрахмы?

"Yes, he does," he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. "What do you think, Simon?" he asked. "From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes-- from their own sons or from others?"
Он говорит: да.И когда вошел он в дом, то Иисус, предупредив его, сказал: как тебе кажется, Симон, цари земные с кого берут пошлины или подати? с сынов ли своих, или с посторонних?

"From others," Peter answered. "Then the sons are exempt," Jesus said to him.
Петр говорит Ему: с посторонних.Иисус сказал ему: итак, сыны свободны;

"But so that we may not offend them, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours."
но, чтобы нам не соблазнить их, пойди на море, брось уду, и первую рыбу, которая попадется, возьми, и, открыв у ней рот, найдешь статир; возьми его и отдай им за Меня и за себя.

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
В то время ученики приступили к Иисусу и сказали: кто больше в Царстве Небесном?

He called a little child and had him stand among them.
Иисус, призвав дитя, поставил его посреди них

And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
и сказал: истинно говорю вам, если не обратитесь и не будете как дети, не войдете в Царство Небесное;

Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
итак, кто умалится, как это дитя, тот и больше в Царстве Небесном;

"And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.
и кто примет одно такое дитя во имя Мое, тот Меня принимает.

But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
А кто соблазнит одного из малых сих, верующих в Меня, тому лучше было бы, если бы повесили ему мельничный жернов на шею и потопили его во глубине морской.

"Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come!
Горе миру от соблазнов, ибо надобно прийти соблазнам; но горе тому человеку, через которого соблазн приходит.

If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire.
Если же рука твоя или нога твоя соблазняет тебя, отсеки их и брось от себя: лучше тебе войти в жизнь без руки или без ноги, нежели с двумя руками и с двумя ногами быть ввержену в огонь вечный;

And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.
и если глаз твой соблазняет тебя, вырви его и брось от себя: лучше тебе с одним глазом войти в жизнь, нежели с двумя глазами быть ввержену в геенну огненную.

"See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.
Смотрите, не презирайте ни одного из малых сих; ибо говорю вам, что Ангелы их на небесах всегда видят лицо Отца Моего Небесного.

For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
Ибо Сын Человеческий пришел взыскать и спасти погибшее.

"What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?
Как вам кажется? Если бы у кого было сто овец и одна из них заблудилась, то не оставит ли он девяносто девять в горах и не пойдет ли искать заблудившуюся?

And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off.
И если случится найти ее, то, истинно говорю вам, он радуется о ней более, нежели о девяноста девяти незаблудившихся.

In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.
Так, нет воли Отца вашего Небесного, чтобы погиб один из малых сих.

"If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
Если же согрешит против тебя брат твой, пойди и обличи его между тобою и им одним; если послушает тебя, то приобрел ты брата твоего;

But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.'
если же не послушает, возьми с собою еще одного или двух, дабы устами двух или трех свидетелей подтвердилось всякое слово;

If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
если же не послушает их, скажи церкви; а если и церкви не послушает, то да будет он тебе как язычник и мытарь.

"I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Истинно говорю вам: что вы свяжете на земле, то будет связано на небе; и что разрешите на земле, то будет разрешено на небе.

"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.
Истинно также говорю вам, что если двое из вас согласятся на земле просить о всяком деле, то, чего бы ни попросили, будет им от Отца Моего Небесного,

For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
ибо, где двое или трое собраны во имя Мое, там Я посреди них.

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?"
Тогда Петр приступил к Нему и сказал: ГОСПОДИ! сколько раз прощать брату моему, согрешающему против меня? до семи ли раз?

Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
Иисус говорит ему: не говорю тебе: "до семи", но до седмижды семидесяти раз.

"Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.
Посему Царство Небесное подобно царю, который захотел сосчитаться с рабами своими;

As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him.
когда начал он считаться, приведен был к нему некто, который должен был ему десять тысяч талантов;

Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.
а как он не имел чем заплатить, то государь его приказал продать его, и жену его, и детей, и все, что он имел, и заплатить;

"The servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything.'
тогда раб тот пал, и, кланяясь ему, говорил: "государь! потерпи на мне, и все тебе заплачу".

The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
Государь, умилосердившись над рабом тем, отпустил его и долг простил ему.

"But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded.
Раб же тот, выйдя, нашел одного из товарищей своих, который должен был ему сто динариев, и, схватив его, душил, говоря: "отдай мне, что должен".

"His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.'
Тогда товарищ его пал к ногам его, умолял его и говорил: "потерпи на мне, и все отдам тебе".

"But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt.
Но тот не захотел, а пошел и посадил его в темницу, пока не отдаст долга.

When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened.
Товарищи его, видев происшедшее, очень огорчились и, придя, рассказали государю своему все бывшее.

"Then the master called the servant in. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to.
Тогда государь его призывает его и говорит: "злой раб! весь долг тот я простил тебе, потому что ты упросил меня;

Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?'
не надлежало ли и тебе помиловать товарища твоего, как и я помиловал тебя?"

In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

"This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart."

When Jesus had finished saying these things, he left Galilee and went into the region of Judea to the other side of the Jordan.
Когда Иисус окончил слова сии, то вышел из Галилеи и пришел в пределы Иудейские, Заиорданскою стороною.

Large crowds followed him, and he healed them there.
За Ним последовало много людей, и Он исцелил их там.

Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?"
И приступили к Нему фарисеи и, искушая Его, говорили Ему: по всякой ли причине позволительно человеку разводиться с женою своею?

"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,'
Он сказал им в ответ: не читали ли вы, что Сотворивший в начале мужчину и женщину сотворил их?

and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'?
И сказал: посему оставит человек отца и мать и прилепится к жене своей, и будут два одною плотью,

So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
так что они уже не двое, но одна плоть. Итак, что Бог сочетал, того человек да не разлучает.

"Why then," they asked, "did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?"
Они говорят Ему: как же Моисей заповедал давать разводное письмо и разводиться с нею?

Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.
Он говорит им: Моисей по жестокосердию вашему позволил вам разводиться с женами вашими, а сначала не было так;

I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."
но Я говорю вам: кто разведется с женою своею не за прелюбодеяние и женится на другой, тот прелюбодействует; и женившийся на разведенной прелюбодействует.

The disciples said to him, "If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry."
Говорят Ему ученики Его: если такова обязанность человека к жене, то лучше не жениться.

Jesus replied, "Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.
Он же сказал им: не все вмещают слово сие, но кому дано,

For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it."
ибо есть скопцы, которые из чрева матернего родились так; и есть скопцы, которые оскоплены от людей; и есть скопцы, которые сделали сами себя скопцами для Царства Небесного. Кто может вместить, да вместит.

Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
Тогда приведены были к Нему дети, чтобы Он возложил на них руки и помолился; ученики же возбраняли им.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
Но Иисус сказал: пустите детей и не препятствуйте им приходить ко Мне, ибо таковых есть Царство Небесное.

When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.
И, возложив на них руки, пошел оттуда.

Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?"
И вот, некто, подойдя, сказал Ему: Учитель благий! что сделать мне доброго, чтобы иметь жизнь вечную?

"Why do you ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments."
Он же сказал ему: что ты называешь Меня благим? Никто не благ, как только один Бог. Если же хочешь войти в жизнь вечную, соблюди заповеди.

"Which ones?" the man inquired. Jesus replied, " 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony,
Говорит Ему: какие?Иисус же сказал: "не убивай"; "не прелюбодействуй"; "не кради"; "не лжесвидетельствуй";

honor your father and mother,' and 'love your neighbor as yourself.' "
"почитай отца и мать"; и: "люби ближнего твоего, как самого себя".

"All these I have kept," the young man said. "What do I still lack?"
Юноша говорит Ему: все это сохранил я от юности моей; чего еще недостает мне?

Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
Иисус сказал ему: если хочешь быть совершенным, пойди, продай имение твое и раздай нищим; и будешь иметь сокровище на небесах; и приходи и следуй за Мною.

When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
Услышав слово сие, юноша отошел с печалью, потому что у него было большое имение.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Иисус же сказал ученикам Своим: истинно говорю вам, что трудно богатому войти в Царство Небесное;

Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
и еще говорю вам: удобнее верблюду пройти сквозь игольные уши, нежели богатому войти в Царство Божие.

When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, "Who then can be saved?"
Услышав это, ученики Его весьма изумились и сказали: так кто же может спастись?

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
А Иисус, воззрев, сказал им: человекам это невозможно, Богу же все возможно.

Peter answered him, "We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?"
Тогда Петр, отвечая, сказал Ему: вот, мы оставили все и последовали за Тобою; что же будет нам?

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Иисус же сказал им: истинно говорю вам, что вы, последовавшие за Мною,— в пакибытии, когда сядет Сын Человеческий на престоле славы Своей, сядете и вы на двенадцати престолах судить двенадцать колен Израилевых.

And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
И всякий, кто оставит домы, или братьев, или сестер, или отца, или мать, или жену, или детей, или земли, ради имени Моего, получит во сто крат и наследует жизнь вечную.

But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
Многие же будут первые последними, и последние первыми.

"For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire men to work in his vineyard.

He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them into his vineyard.
и, договорившись с работниками по динарию на день, послал их в виноградник свой;

"About the third hour he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing.
выйдя около третьего часа, он увидел других, стоящих на торжище праздно,

He told them, 'You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.'
и им сказал: "идите и вы в виноградник мой, и что следовать будет, дам вам". Они пошли.

So they went. "He went out again about the sixth hour and the ninth hour and did the same thing.
Опять выйдя около шестого и девятого часа, сделал то же.

About the eleventh hour he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, 'Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?'
Наконец, выйдя около одиннадцатого часа, он нашел других, стоящих праздно, и говорит им: "что вы стоите здесь целый день праздно?"

" 'Because no one has hired us,' they answered. "He said to them, 'You also go and work in my vineyard.'
Они говорят ему: "никто нас не нанял". Он говорит им: "идите и вы в виноградник мой, и что следовать будет, получите".

"When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, 'Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.'
Когда же наступил вечер, говорит господин виноградника управителю своему: "позови работников и отдай им плату, начав с последних до первых".

"The workers who were hired about the eleventh hour came and each received a denarius.
И пришедшие около одиннадцатого часа получили по динарию.

So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius.
Пришедшие же первыми думали, что они получат больше, но получили и они по динарию;

When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner.
и, получив, стали роптать на хозяина дома

'These men who were hired last worked only one hour,' they said, 'and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.'
и говорили: "эти последние работали один час, и ты сравнял их с нами, перенесшими тягость дня и зной".

"But he answered one of them, 'Friend, I am not being unfair to you. Didn't you agree to work for a denarius?
Он же в ответ сказал одному из них: "друг! я не обижаю тебя; не за динарий ли ты договорился со мною?

Take your pay and go. I want to give the man who was hired last the same as I gave you.
Возьми свое и пойди; я же хочу дать этому последнему то же, что и тебе;

Don't I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?'
разве я не властен в своем делать, что хочу? или глаз твой завистлив оттого, что я добр?"

"So the last will be first, and the first will be last."
Так будут последние первыми, и первые последними, ибо много званых, а мало избранных.

Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and said to them,
И, восходя в Иерусалим, Иисус дорогою отозвал двенадцать учеников одних, и сказал им:

"We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death
вот, мы восходим в Иерусалим, и Сын Человеческий предан будет первосвященникам и книжникам, и осудят Его на смерть;

and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!"
и предадут Его язычникам на поругание и биение и распятие; и в третий день воскреснет.

Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him.
Тогда приступила к Нему мать сыновей Зеведеевых с сыновьями своими, кланяясь и чего-то прося у Него.

"What is it you want?" he asked. She said, "Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom."
Он сказал ей: чего ты хочешь?Она говорит Ему: скажи, чтобы сии два сына мои сели у Тебя один по правую сторону, а другой по левую в Царстве Твоем.

"You don't know what you are asking," Jesus said to them. "Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?" "We can," they answered.
Иисус сказал в ответ: не знаете, чего просите. Можете ли пить чашу, которую Я буду пить, или креститься крещением, которым Я крещусь?Они говорят Ему: можем.

Jesus said to them, "You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father."
И говорит им: чашу Мою будете пить, и крещением, которым Я крещусь, будете креститься, но дать сесть у Меня по правую сторону и по левую— не от Меня зависит, но кому уготовано Отцом Моим.

When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers.
Услышав сие, прочие десять учеников вознегодовали на двух братьев.

Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.
Иисус же, подозвав их, сказал: вы знаете, что князья народов господствуют над ними, и вельможи властвуют ими;

Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,
но между вами да не будет так: а кто хочет между вами быть большим, да будет вам слугою;

and whoever wants to be first must be your slave--
и кто хочет между вами быть первым, да будет вам рабом;

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
так как Сын Человеческий не для того пришел, чтобы Ему служили, но чтобы послужить и отдать душу Свою для искупления многих.

As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him.
И когда выходили они из Иерихона, за Ним следовало множество народа.

Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!"
И вот, двое слепых, сидевшие у дороги, услышав, что Иисус идет мимо, начали кричать: помилуй нас, ГОСПОДИ, Сын Давидов!

The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!"
Народ же заставлял их молчать; но они еще громче стали кричать: помилуй нас, ГОСПОДИ, Сын Давидов!

Jesus stopped and called them. "What do you want me to do for you?" he asked.
Иисус, остановившись, подозвал их и сказал: чего вы хотите от Меня?

"Lord," they answered, "we want our sight."
Они говорят Ему: ГОСПОДИ! чтобы открылись глаза наши.

Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.
Иисус же, умилосердившись, прикоснулся к глазам их; и тотчас прозрели глаза их, и они пошли за Ним.

As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,
И когда приблизились к Иерусалиму и пришли в Виффагию к горе Елеонской, тогда Иисус послал двух учеников,

saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me.
сказав им: пойдите в селение, которое прямо перед вами; и тотчас найдете ослицу привязанную и молодого осла с нею; отвязав, приведите ко Мне;

If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away."
и если кто скажет вам что-нибудь, отвечайте, что они надобны ГОСПОДУ; и тотчас пошлет их.

This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:
Все же сие было, да сбудется реченное через пророка, который говорит:

"Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.' "
"скажите дщери Сионовой: се, Царь твой грядет к тебе кроткий, сидя на ослице и молодом осле, сыне подъяремной".

The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.
Ученики пошли и поступили так, как повелел им Иисус:

They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them.
привели ослицу и молодого осла и положили на них одежды свои, и Он сел поверх их.

A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
Множество же народа постилали свои одежды по дороге, а другие резали ветви с дерев и постилали по дороге;

The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Hosanna in the highest!"
народ же, предшествовавший и сопровождавший, восклицал: осанна Сыну Давидову! благословен Грядущий во имя ГОСПОДНЕ! осанна в вышних!

When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, "Who is this?"
И когда вошел Он в Иерусалим, весь город пришел в движение и говорил: кто Сей?

The crowds answered, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee."
Народ же говорил: Сей есть Иисус, Пророк из Назарета Галилейского.

Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.
И вошел Иисус в храм Божий и выгнал всех продающих и покупающих в храме, и опрокинул столы меновщиков и скамьи продающих голубей,

"It is written," he said to them, " 'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you are making it a 'den of robbers.' "
и говорил им: написано: "дом Мой домом молитвы наречется"; а вы сделали его вертепом разбойников.

The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them.
И приступили к Нему в храме слепые и хромые, и Он исцелил их.

But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple area, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they were indignant.
Видев же первосвященники и книжники чудеса, которые Он сотворил, и детей, восклицающих в храме и говорящих: "осанна Сыну Давидову!"— вознегодовали

"Do you hear what these children are saying?" they asked him. "Yes," replied Jesus, "have you never read, " 'From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise'?"
и сказали Ему: слышишь ли, что они говорят?Иисус же говорит им: да! разве вы никогда не читали: "из уст младенцев и грудных детей Ты устроил хвалу"?

And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.
И, оставив их, вышел вон из города в Вифанию и провел там ночь.

Early in the morning, as he was on his way back to the city, he was hungry.
Поутру же, возвращаясь в город, взалкал;

Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, "May you never bear fruit again!" Immediately the tree withered.
и увидев при дороге одну смоковницу, подошел к ней и, ничего не найдя на ней, кроме одних листьев, говорит ей: да не будет же впредь от тебя плода вовек. И смоковница тотчас засохла.

When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. "How did the fig tree wither so quickly?" they asked.
Увидев это, ученики удивились и говорили: как это тотчас засохла смоковница?

Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done.
Иисус же сказал им в ответ: истинно говорю вам, если будете иметь веру и не усомнитесь, не только сделаете то, что сделано со смоковницею, но если и горе сей скажете: "поднимись и ввергнись в море",— будет;

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."
и все, чего ни попросите в молитве с верою, получите.

Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. "By what authority are you doing these things?" they asked. "And who gave you this authority?"
И когда пришел Он в храм и учил, приступили к Нему первосвященники и старейшины народа и сказали: какою властью Ты это делаешь? и кто Тебе дал такую власть?

Jesus replied, "I will also ask you one question. If you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
Иисус сказал им в ответ: спрошу и Я вас об одном; если о том скажете Мне, то и Я вам скажу, какою властью это делаю;

John's baptism-- where did it come from? Was it from heaven, or from men?" They discussed it among themselves and said, "If we say, 'From heaven,' he will ask, 'Then why didn't you believe him?'
крещение Иоанново откуда было: с небес, или от человеков?Они же рассуждали между собою: если скажем: "с небес", то Он скажет нам: "почему же вы не поверили ему?"

But if we say, 'From men'-- we are afraid of the people, for they all hold that John was a prophet."
А если сказать: "от человеков",— боимся народа, ибо все почитают Иоанна за пророка.

So they answered Jesus, "We don't know." Then he said, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
И сказали в ответ Иисусу: не знаем.Сказал им и Он: и Я вам не скажу, какою властью это делаю.

"What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, 'Son, go and work today in the vineyard.'
А как вам кажется? У одного человека было два сына; и он, подойдя к первому, сказал: "сын! пойди сегодня работай в винограднике моем".

" 'I will not,' he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.
Но он сказал в ответ: "не хочу"; а после, раскаявшись, пошел.

"Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, 'I will, sir,' but he did not go.
И подойдя к другому, он сказал то же. Этот сказал в ответ: "иду, государь", и не пошел.

"Which of the two did what his father wanted?" "The first," they answered. Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you.
Который из двух исполнил волю отца?Говорят Ему: первый.Иисус говорит им: истинно говорю вам, что мытари и блудницы вперед вас идут в Царство Божие,

For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.
ибо пришел к вам Иоанн путем праведности, и вы не поверили ему, а мытари и блудницы поверили ему; вы же, и видев это, не раскаялись после, чтобы поверить ему.

"Listen to another parable: There was a landowner who planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and went away on a journey.
Выслушайте другую притчу: был некоторый хозяин дома, который насадил виноградник, обнес его оградою, выкопал в нем точило, построил башню и, отдав его виноградарям, отлучился.

When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his fruit.
Когда же приблизилось время плодов, он послал своих слуг к виноградарям взять свои плоды;

"The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third.
виноградари, схватив слуг его, иного прибили, иного убили, а иного побили камнями.

Then he sent other servants to them, more than the first time, and the tenants treated them the same way.
Опять послал он других слуг, больше прежнего; и с ними поступили так же.

Last of all, he sent his son to them. 'They will respect my son,' he said.
Наконец, послал он к ним своего сына, говоря: "постыдятся сына моего".

"But when the tenants saw the son, they said to each other, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him and take his inheritance.'
Но виноградари, увидев сына, сказали друг другу: "это наследник; пойдем, убьем его и завладеем наследством его".

So they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
И, схватив его, вывели вон из виноградника и убили.

"Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?"
Итак, когда придет хозяин виноградника, что сделает он с этими виноградарями?

"He will bring those wretches to a wretched end," they replied, "and he will rent the vineyard to other tenants, who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time."
Говорят Ему: злодеев сих предаст злой смерти, а виноградник отдаст другим виноградарям, которые будут отдавать ему плоды во времена свои.

Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures: " 'The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?
Иисус говорит им: неужели вы никогда не читали в Писании: "камень, который отвергли строители, тот самый сделался главою угла; это от ГОСПОДА, и есть дивно в очах наших"?

"Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
Потому сказываю вам, что отнимется от вас Царство Божие и дано будет народу, приносящему плоды его;

He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom it falls will be crushed."
и тот, кто упадет на этот камень, разобьется, а на кого он упадет, того раздавит.

When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus' parables, they knew he was talking about them.
И, слышав притчи Его, первосвященники и фарисеи поняли, что Он о них говорит,

They looked for a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd because the people held that he was a prophet.
и старались схватить Его, но побоялись народа, потому что Его почитали за Пророка.

Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying:
Иисус, продолжая говорить им притчами, сказал:

"The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son.
Царство Небесное подобно человеку царю, который сделал брачный пир для сына своего

He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.
и послал рабов своих звать званых на брачный пир; и не хотели прийти.

"Then he sent some more servants and said, 'Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.'
Опять послал других рабов, сказав: "скажите званым: вот, я приготовил обед мой, тельцы мои и что откормлено, заколото, и все готово; приходите на брачный пир".

"But they paid no attention and went off-- one to his field, another to his business.
Но они, пренебрегши то, пошли, кто на поле свое, а кто на торговлю свою;

The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them.
прочие же, схватив рабов его, оскорбили и убили их.

The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
Услышав о сем, царь разгневался, и, послав войска свои, истребил убийц оных и сжег город их.

"Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come.
Тогда говорит он рабам своим: "брачный пир готов, а званые не были достойны;

Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.'
итак, пойдите на распутия и всех, кого найдете, зовите на брачный пир".

So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

"But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes.

'Friend,' he asked, 'how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' The man was speechless.

"Then the king told the attendants, 'Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

"For many are invited, but few are chosen."

Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words.

They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. "Teacher," they said, "we know you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are.
И посылают к Нему учеников своих с иродианами, говоря: Учитель! мы знаем, что Ты справедлив, и истинно пути Божию учишь, и не заботишься об угождении кому-либо, ибо не смотришь ни на какое лицо;

Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?"

But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, "You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me?

Show me the coin used for paying the tax." They brought him a denarius,

"Caesar's," they replied. Then he said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."

When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.

When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.

Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together.

One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"

All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,

"What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?" "The son of David," they replied.

He said to them, "How is it then that David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him 'Lord'? For he says,

If then David calls him 'Lord,' how can he be his son?"

No one could say a word in reply, and from that day on no one dared to ask him any more questions.

"The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat.

So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.

They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

"Everything they do is done for men to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long;

they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues;
также любят предвозлежания на пиршествах, и председания в синагогах,

they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them 'Rabbi.'

"But you are not to be called 'Rabbi,' for you have only one Master and you are all brothers.

And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.

Nor are you to be called 'teacher,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ.

The greatest among you will be your servant.

For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.

"Woe to you, blind guides! You say, 'If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.'

You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred?

You also say, 'If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on it, he is bound by his oath.'

You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred?

Therefore, he who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it.

And he who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it.

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices-- mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law-- justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter,

Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean.

In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous.

And you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.'
и говорите: "если бы мы были во дни отцов наших, то не были бы сообщниками их в пролитии крови пророков";

So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets.

Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers!

"You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?

Therefore I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.

And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings.

"Do you see all these things?" he asked. "I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"
Когда же сидел Он на горе Елеонской, то приступили к Нему ученики наедине и спросили: скажи нам, когда это будет? и какой признак Твоего пришествия и кончины века?

Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you.

For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ, ' and will deceive many.

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

All these are the beginning of birth pains.

"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.
Тогда будут предавать вас на мучения и убивать вас; и вы будете ненавидимы всеми народами за имя Мое;

At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,
и тогда соблазнятся многие, и друг друга будут предавать, и возненавидят друг друга;

and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.
и многие лжепророки восстанут, и прельстят многих;

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,

but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
претерпевший же до конца спасется.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

"So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel-- let the reader understand--

then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
тогда находящиеся в Иудее да бегут в горы;

Let no one on the roof of his house go down to take anything out of the house.
и кто на кровле, тот да не сходит взять что-нибудь из дома своего;

Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak.
и кто на поле, тот да не обращается назад взять одежды свои.

How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!
Горе же беременным и питающим сосцами в те дни!

Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath.

For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now-- and never to be equaled again.

If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.

At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it.

For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect-- if that were possible.

"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.

And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

"Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.
От смоковницы возьмите подобие: когда ветви ее становятся уже мягки и пускают листья, то знаете, что близко лето;

Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door.
так, когда вы увидите все сие, знайте, что близко, при дверях.

I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
Истинно говорю вам: не прейдет род сей, как все сие будет;

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;
ибо, как во дни перед потопом ели, пили, женились и выходили замуж, до того дня, как вошел Ной в ковчег,

and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
и не думали, пока не пришел потоп и не истребил всех,— так будет и пришествие Сына Человеческого;

Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.
тогда будут двое на поле: один берется, а другой оставляется;

Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
две мелющие в жерновах: одна берется, а другая оставляется.

"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
Итак, бодрствуйте, потому что не знаете, в который час ГОСПОДЬ ваш приидет.

But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.

So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

"Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?
Кто же верный и благоразумный раб, которого господин его поставил над слугами своими, чтобы давать им пищу вовремя?

It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.
Блажен тот раб, которого господин его, придя, найдет поступающим так;

I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.
истинно говорю вам, что над всем имением своим поставит его.

But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, 'My master is staying away a long time,'
Если же раб тот, будучи зол, скажет в сердце своем: "не скоро придет господин мой",

and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.
и начнет бить товарищей своих и есть и пить с пьяницами,—

The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.
то придет господин раба того в день, в который он не ожидает, и в час, в который не думает,

He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
Тогда подобно будет Царство Небесное десяти девам, которые, взяв светильники свои, вышли навстречу жениху.

Five of them were foolish and five were wise.
Из них пять было мудрых и пять неразумных.

The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them.
Неразумные, взяв светильники свои, не взяли с собою масла.

The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.
Мудрые же, вместе со светильниками своими, взяли масла в сосудах своих.

The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
И как жених замедлил, то задремали все и уснули.

"At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!'
Но в полночь раздался крик: "вот, жених идет, выходите навстречу ему".

"Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps.
Тогда встали все девы те и поправили светильники свои.

The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.'
Неразумные же сказали мудрым: "дайте нам вашего масла, потому что светильники наши гаснут".

" 'No,' they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.'
А мудрые отвечали: "чтобы не случилось недостатка и у нас и у вас, пойдите лучше к продающим и купите себе".

"But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
Когда же пошли они покупать, пришел жених, и готовые вошли с ним на брачный пир, и двери затворились;

"Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!'
после приходят и прочие девы, и говорят: "ГОСПОДИ! ГОСПОДИ! отвори нам".

To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.

The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more.
Получивший пять талантов пошел, употребил их в дело и приобрел другие пять талантов;

So also, the one with the two talents gained two more.

But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money.
получивший же один талант пошел и закопал его в землю и скрыл серебро господина своего.

"After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.
По долгом времени, приходит господин рабов тех и требует у них отчета.

The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.'
И, подойдя, получивший пять талантов принес другие пять талантов и говорит: "господин! пять талантов ты дал мне; вот, другие пять талантов я приобрел на них".

"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
Господин его сказал ему: "хорошо, добрый и верный раб! в малом ты был верен, над многим тебя поставлю; войди в радость господина твоего".

"The man with the two talents also came. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.'

"Then the man who had received the one talent came. 'Master,' he said, 'I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.

So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.'

"His master replied, 'You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?

Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
посему надлежало тебе отдать серебро мое торгующим, и я, придя, получил бы мое с прибылью;

" 'Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents.
итак, возьмите у него талант и дайте имеющему десять талантов,

For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.
ибо всякому имеющему дастся и приумножится, а у неимеющего отнимется и то, что имеет;

And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
а негодного раба выбросьте во тьму внешнюю: там будет плач и скрежет зубов". Сказав сие, Иисус возгласил: кто имеет уши слышать, да слышит!

"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
Когда же приидет Сын Человеческий во славе Своей и все святые Ангелы с Ним, тогда сядет на Престоле славы Своей,

All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
и соберутся пред Ним все народы; и отделит одних от других, как пастырь отделяет овец от козлов;

He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
и поставит овец по правую Свою сторону, а козлов— по левую.

"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
Тогда скажет Царь тем, которые по правую сторону Его: "приидите, благословенные Отца Моего, наследуйте Царство, уготованное вам от создания мира:

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
ибо алкал Я, и вы дали Мне есть; жаждал, и вы напоили Меня; был странником, и вы приняли Меня;

I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
был наг, и вы одели Меня; был болен, и вы посетили Меня; в темнице был, и вы пришли ко Мне".

"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
Тогда праведники скажут Ему в ответ: "ГОСПОДИ! когда мы видели Тебя алчущим, и накормили? или жаждущим, и напоили?

When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
Когда мы видели Тебя странником, и приняли? или нагим, и одели?

When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
Когда мы видели Тебя больным, или в темнице, и пришли к Тебе?"

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
И Царь скажет им в ответ: "истинно говорю вам: так как вы сделали это одному из сих братьев Моих меньших, то сделали Мне".

"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
Тогда скажет и тем, которые по левую сторону: "идите от Меня, проклятые, в огонь вечный, уготованный диаволу и ангелам его:

For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,
ибо алкал Я, и вы не дали Мне есть; жаждал, и вы не напоили Меня;

I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
был странником, и не приняли Меня; был наг, и не одели Меня; болен и в темнице, и не посетили Меня".

"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
Тогда и они скажут Ему в ответ: "ГОСПОДИ! когда мы видели Тебя алчущим, или жаждущим, или странником, или нагим, или больным, или в темнице, и не послужили Тебе?"

"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
Тогда скажет им в ответ: "истинно говорю вам: так как вы не сделали этого одному из сих меньших, то не сделали Мне".

"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
И пойдут сии в муку вечную, а праведники в жизнь вечную.

When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples,
Когда Иисус окончил все слова сии, то сказал ученикам Своим:

"As you know, the Passover is two days away-- and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified."
вы знаете, что через два дня будет Пасха, и Сын Человеческий предан будет на распятие.

Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,
Тогда собрались первосвященники и книжники и старейшины народа во двор первосвященника, по имени Каиафы,

and they plotted to arrest Jesus in some sly way and kill him.
и положили в совете взять Иисуса хитростью и убить;

"But not during the Feast," they said, "or there may be a riot among the people."
но говорили: только не в праздник, чтобы не сделалось возмущения в народе.

While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper,
Когда же Иисус был в Вифании, в доме Симона прокаженного,

a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table.
приступила к Нему женщина с алавастровым сосудом мира драгоценного и возливала Ему возлежащему на голову.

When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. "Why this waste?" they asked.
Увидев это, ученики Его вознегодовали и говорили: к чему такая трата?

"This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor."
Ибо можно было бы продать это миро за большую цену и дать нищим.

Aware of this, Jesus said to them, "Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me.
Но Иисус, уразумев сие, сказал им: что смущаете женщину? она доброе дело сделала для Меня:

The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me.
ибо нищих всегда имеете с собою, а Меня не всегда имеете;

When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.
возлив миро сие на тело Мое, она приготовила Меня к погребению;

I tell you the truth, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her."
истинно говорю вам: где ни будет проповедано Евангелие сие в целом мире, сказано будет в память ее и о том, что она сделала.

Then one of the Twelve-- the one called Judas Iscariot-- went to the chief priests
Тогда один из Двенадцати, называемый Иуда Искариот, пошел к первосвященникам

and asked, "What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?" So they counted out for him thirty silver coins.
и сказал: что вы дадите мне, и я вам предам Его? Они предложили ему тридцать сребреников;

From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
и с того времени он искал удобного случая предать Его.

On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?"
В первый же день опресночный приступили ученики к Иисусу и сказали Ему: где велишь нам приготовить Тебе пасху?

He replied, "Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, 'The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.' "
Он сказал: пойдите в город к такому-то и скажите ему: "Учитель говорит: время Мое близко; у тебя совершу пасху с учениками Моими".

So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.
Ученики сделали, как повелел им Иисус, и приготовили пасху.

When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve.
Когда же настал вечер, Он возлег с двенадцатью учениками;

And while they were eating, he said, "I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me."
и когда они ели, сказал: истинно говорю вам, что один из вас предаст Меня.

They were very sad and began to say to him one after the other, "Surely not I, Lord?"
Они весьма опечалились и начали говорить Ему, каждый из них: не я ли, ГОСПОДИ?

Jesus replied, "The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.
Он же сказал в ответ: опустивший со Мною руку в блюдо, этот предаст Меня;

The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born."
впрочем, Сын Человеческий идет, как писано о Нем, но горе тому человеку, которым Сын Человеческий предается: лучше было бы этому человеку не родиться.

Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, "Surely not I, Rabbi?" Jesus answered, "Yes, it is you."
При сем и Иуда, предающий Его, сказал: не я ли, Равви?Иисус говорит ему: ты сказал.

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body."
И когда они ели, Иисус взял хлеб и, благословив, преломил и, раздавая ученикам, сказал: приимите, ядите: сие есть Тело Мое.

Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you.
И, взяв чашу и благодарив, подал им и сказал: пейте из нее все,

This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
ибо сие есть Кровь Моя нового завета, за многих изливаемая во оставление грехов.

I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom."
Сказываю же вам, что отныне не буду пить от плода сего виноградного до того дня, когда буду пить с вами новое вино в Царстве Отца Моего.

When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
И, воспев, пошли на гору Елеонскую.

Then Jesus told them, "This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: " 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'
Тогда говорит им Иисус: все вы соблазнитесь о Мне в эту ночь, ибо написано: "поражу пастыря, и рассеются овцы стада";

But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee."
по воскресении же Моем предварю вас в Галилее.

Peter replied, "Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will."
Петр сказал Ему в ответ: если и все соблазнятся о Тебе, я никогда не соблазнюсь.

"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times."
Иисус сказал ему: истинно говорю тебе, что в эту ночь, прежде нежели пропоет петух, трижды отречешься от Меня.

But Peter declared, "Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you." And all the other disciples said the same.
Говорит Ему Петр: хотя бы надлежало мне и умереть с Тобою, не отрекусь от Тебя. Подобное говорили и все ученики.

Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray."
Потом приходит с ними Иисус на место, называемое Гефсимания, и говорит ученикам: посидите тут, пока Я пойду, помолюсь там.

He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled.
И, взяв с Собою Петра и обоих сыновей Зеведеевых, начал скорбеть и тосковать.

Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."
Тогда говорит им Иисус: душа Моя скорбит смертельно; побудьте здесь и бодрствуйте со Мною.

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."
И, отойдя немного, пал на лицо Свое, молился и говорил: Отче Мой! если возможно, да минует Меня чаша сия; впрочем, не как Я хочу, но как Ты.

Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter.
И приходит к ученикам и находит их спящими, и говорит Петру: так ли не могли вы один час бодрствовать со Мною?

"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."
Бодрствуйте и молитесь, чтобы не впасть в искушение: дух бодр, плоть же немощна.

He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."
Еще, отойдя в другой раз, молился, говоря: Отче Мой! если не может чаша сия миновать Меня, чтобы Мне не пить ее, да будет воля Твоя.

When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy.
И, придя, находит их опять спящими, ибо у них глаза отяжелели.

So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.
И, оставив их, отошел опять и помолился в третий раз, сказав то же слово.

Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
Тогда приходит к ученикам Своим и говорит им: вы все еще спите и почиваете? вот, приблизился час, и Сын Человеческий предается в руки грешников;

Rise, let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"
встаньте, пойдем: вот, приблизился предающий Меня.

While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the elders of the people.
И, когда еще говорил Он, вот, Иуда, один из Двенадцати, пришел, и с ним множество народа с мечами и кольями, от первосвященников и старейшин народных.

Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: "The one I kiss is the man; arrest him."
Предающий же Его дал им знак, сказав: Кого я поцелую, Тот и есть, возьмите Его.

Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Greetings, Rabbi!" and kissed him.
И, тотчас подойдя к Иисусу, сказал: радуйся, Равви! И поцеловал Его.

Jesus replied, "Friend, do what you came for." Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him.
Иисус же сказал ему: друг, для чего ты пришел?Тогда подошли и возложили руки на Иисуса, и взяли Его.

With that, one of Jesus' companions reached for his sword, drew it out and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
И вот, один из бывших с Иисусом, простерши руку, извлек меч свой и, ударив раба первосвященникова, отсек ему ухо.

"Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.
Тогда говорит ему Иисус: возврати меч твой в его место, ибо все, взявшие меч, мечом погибнут;

Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?
или думаешь, что Я не могу теперь умолить Отца Моего, и Он представит Мне более, нежели двенадцать легионов Ангелов?

But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?"
Как же сбудутся Писания, что так должно быть?

At that time Jesus said to the crowd, "Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I sat in the temple courts teaching, and you did not arrest me.
В тот час сказал Иисус народу: как будто на разбойника вышли вы с мечами и кольями взять Меня; каждый день с вами сидел Я, уча в храме, и вы не брали Меня.

But this has all taken place that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled." Then all the disciples deserted him and fled.
Сие же все было, да сбудутся писания пророков.Тогда все ученики, оставив Его, бежали.

Those who had arrested Jesus took him to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the teachers of the law and the elders had assembled.
А взявшие Иисуса отвели Его к Каиафе первосвященнику, куда собрались книжники и старейшины.

But Peter followed him at a distance, right up to the courtyard of the high priest. He entered and sat down with the guards to see the outcome.
Петр же следовал за Ним издали, до двора первосвященникова; и, войдя внутрь, сел со служителями, чтобы видеть конец.

The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death.
Первосвященники и старейшины и весь синедрион искали лжесвидетельства против Иисуса, чтобы предать Его смерти,

But they did not find any, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally two came forward
и не находили; и, хотя много лжесвидетелей приходило, не нашли. Но наконец пришли два лжесвидетеля

and declared, "This fellow said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.' "
и сказали: Он говорил: "могу разрушить храм Божий и в три дня создать его".

Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?"
И, встав, первосвященник сказал Ему: что же ничего не отвечаешь? что они против Тебя свидетельствуют?

But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God."
Иисус молчал. И первосвященник сказал Ему: заклинаю Тебя Богом Живым, скажи нам, Ты ли Христос, Сын Божий?

"Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."
Иисус говорит ему: ты сказал; даже сказываю вам: отныне узрите Сына Человеческого, сидящего одесную Силы и грядущего на облаках небесных.

Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy.
Тогда первосвященник разодрал одежды свои и сказал: Он богохульствует! на что еще нам свидетелей? вот, теперь вы слышали богохульство Его!

What do you think?" "He is worthy of death," they answered.
Как вам кажется?Они же сказали в ответ: повинен смерти.

Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists. Others slapped him
Тогда плевали Ему в лицо и заушали Его; другие же ударяли Его по ланитам

and said, "Prophesy to us, Christ. Who hit you?"
и говорили: прореки нам, Христос, кто ударил Тебя?

Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. "You also were with Jesus of Galilee," she said.
Петр же сидел вне на дворе. И подошла к нему одна служанка и сказала: и ты был с Иисусом Галилеянином.

But he denied it before them all. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said.
Но он отрекся перед всеми, сказав: не знаю, что ты говоришь.

Then he went out to the gateway, where another girl saw him and said to the people there, "This fellow was with Jesus of Nazareth."
Когда же он выходил за ворота, увидела его другая, и говорит бывшим там: и этот был с Иисусом Назореем.

He denied it again, with an oath: "I don't know the man!"
И он опять отрекся с клятвою, что не знает Сего Человека.

After a little while, those standing there went up to Peter and said, "Surely you are one of them, for your accent gives you away."
Немного спустя подошли стоявшие там и сказали Петру: точно и ты из них, ибо и речь твоя обличает тебя.

Then he began to call down curses on himself and he swore to them, "I don't know the man!" Immediately a rooster crowed.
Тогда он начал клясться и божиться, что не знает Сего Человека. И вдруг запел петух.

Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: "Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times." And he went outside and wept bitterly.
И вспомнил Петр слово, сказанное ему Иисусом: "прежде нежели пропоет петух, трижды отречешься от Меня". И, выйдя вон, плакал горько.

Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people came to the decision to put Jesus to death.
Когда же настало утро, все первосвященники и старейшины народа имели совещание об Иисусе, чтобы предать Его смерти;

They bound him, led him away and handed him over to Pilate, the governor.
и, связав Его, отвели и предали Его Понтию Пилату, правителю.

When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders.
Тогда Иуда, предавший Его, увидев, что Он осужден, и, раскаявшись, возвратил тридцать сребреников первосвященникам и старейшинам,

"I have sinned," he said, "for I have betrayed innocent blood." "What is that to us?" they replied. "That's your responsibility."
говоря: согрешил я, предав кровь невинную.Они же сказали ему: что нам до того? смотри сам.

So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.
И, бросив сребреники в храме, он вышел, пошел и удавился.

The chief priests picked up the coins and said, "It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money."
Первосвященники, взяв сребреники, сказали: непозволительно положить их в сокровищницу церковную, потому что это цена крови.

So they decided to use the money to buy the potter's field as a burial place for foreigners.
Сделав же совещание, купили на них землю горшечника, для погребения странников;

That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day.
посему и называется земля та "землею крови" до сего дня.

Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: "They took the thirty silver coins, the price set on him by the people of Israel,
Тогда сбылось реченное через пророка Иеремию, который говорит: "и взяли тридцать сребреников, цену Оцененного, Которого оценили сыны Израиля,

and they used them to buy the potter's field, as the Lord commanded me."
и дали их за землю горшечника, как сказал мне ГОСПОДЬ".

Meanwhile Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?" "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied.
Иисус же стал перед правителем. И спросил Его правитель: Ты Царь Иудейский?Иисус сказал ему: ты говоришь.

When he was accused by the chief priests and the elders, he gave no answer.
И когда обвиняли Его первосвященники и старейшины, Он ничего не отвечал.

Then Pilate asked him, "Don't you hear the testimony they are bringing against you?"
Тогда говорит Ему Пилат: не слышишь, сколько свидетельствуют против Тебя?

But Jesus made no reply, not even to a single charge-- to the great amazement of the governor.
И не отвечал ему ни на одно слово, так что правитель весьма дивился.

Now it was the governor's custom at the Feast to release a prisoner chosen by the crowd.
