2.7.2 The Research Question Flashcards
(8 cards)
What are the co-variables in your study
- The impulsivity quiz
- The stroop test
Explain how you operationalised your co-variables
- both were done online
- we looked at the stroop score in milliseconds
What does operationalism do (subjectivity and reliability)
Operationalism reduces subjectivity and increases the reliability of the study
What is the aim of the research
To investigate if there is a correlation between the co-variables of impulsiveness and stroop score test
What is the alternative hypothesis for your correlation
There is a significant correlation between the numerical score achieved on Barrett impulsiveness scale (BIS-11) and the stroop score in milliseconds (difference between congruent and incongruent conditions)
What is the null hypothesis for your correlation
There is no significant correlation between teh numerical score achieved on the Barrett impulsiveness scale (BIS-11) and the stroop score in milliseconds (difference between congruent and incongruent conditions)
—> means that any observed relationship between impulsiveness and stroop test score is due to chance or random variation not a real connection
identify and explain two confounding variables that you will control for in your experiment
