Explain one ethical issue which you considered in your correlation

Answer 1

• protection from harm as the participants may have experienced a risk of stress or anxiety when completing the stroop test and impulsivity scale or a risk of embarrassment when submitting their results for them
• frustration
• The online stroop task may have a different format to what they are used to
• Pressing the corresponding keys quickly enough does take some getting used to;
• Knowing the correct answer but accidentally press in the incorrect key board may have caused them frustration

Explain how you managed the ethical issues identified

Answer 2

• participants were fully informed on the aim of the study and volunteered themselves and volunteered to take part
• informed of their right to withdraw at any point
• on emails, i informed them there was no correct scores on either of the tasks and suggested they take a practise trial first to familiarise themselves with the stroop task —> meant if they did find it stressful then they could withdraw before taking the full assessment
