Clinical Manifestations


1. Venous and arterial thrombosis
2. Thrombocytopenia
3. Recurrent fetal loss (especially 2nd trimester)
4. Cerebral disease (e.g. migraine, seizures)
5. Livedo reticularis (see rash sheet)

Syndrome confirmed by detection of

• Anticardiolipin
• Antiphospholipid antibodies in the serum
• Lupus anticoagulant presence

Treatment

Anticoagulation with either aspirin or warfarin or both
Many female sufferes have been able to carry foetuses to term as a result
