How a disease develops
What does symptom mean?
What the patient feels
What does sign mean?
The doctor’s observation
What does lesion mean?
The abnormality
What does macroscopic mean?
Seen with the naked eye
What does microscopic mean?
Seen with magnifaction
What does biochemical mean?
Seen at chemical level
What does pathophysiological mean?
Seen with lack of function.
What is an inflammatory process?
Succession of changes occurring in living tissue when it is ignored/response of living tissue to insult and protective against further damage.
What is a circulatory process?
Abnormalities of flow, vessel wall, components of blood.
What is a disorder of growth?
Abnormal cell growth.
What is a degenerative process?
Heterogeneous group, abnormalities of tissue and organs.
What is a developmental process?
Abnormalities of gametogenesis, abnormalities of embryogenesis.
