Describe Meniere's attacks

Severe sudden attacks that cause permanent hearing loss

Nausea and vomiting can also be present

What are the causes

Viral and bacterial infections

Allergic reactions


What's the best environment for a client with this syndrome?

Bed rest in a quiet room

Moving head slowly

Sedative can be given to keep client calm

Low playing music helps with tinnitus


What should the diet be ?

Low sodium


Is surgery needed ?

In severe causes a removal of the labyrinth ( or labyrinthectomy) is performed
