Story 16 : الطلب :

Question 1

و وصلت الجاريتان الى البيت قبل الميعاد، فتعجب ابوهما و سألهما عن السبب.

Answer 1

The two girls reached home before the appointed time. Their father was suprised and he asked both of them regarding the cause.

Question 2

و قال لهما: ما اعجلكما يابنتي، و كيف وصلتما اليوم قبل الميعاد؟

Answer 2

He said to them: What caused you to come so early? oh my beloved daughters. How did you both arrive today before the appinted time?

Question 3

قالت السيدتان: قد قدّر الله لنا رجلا كريما سقى لنا.

Answer 3

The two honourable girls said: ‘Surely Allah (s.w.t) has determined for us an honourable man who gave the drink for us’.

Question 4

تعجب الشيخ و عرفرانه رجل غريب ؛ لأن احدا لم يرحمهن يوما.

Answer 4

The father was astonished and he realised that it was a stranger because noone there had ever been kind to his daughters.

Question 5

قال الشيخ: اين تركتما الركل؟

Answer 5

The father said: Where did you leave this man?

Question 6

قالتا: تركنا في مكانه، رجل غريب ليس له مأوى!

Answer 6

They both said: ‘We left him at the well. He is a stranger and has no home here in Madyan’

Question 7

قال الشيخ: ما احسنتما يا بنتيّ رجل غريب قد احسن الينا و ليس له مأوى في البلد

Answer 7

The father said: You did not do well, my daughters. A stranger has been good to you but he has no shelter in the land.

Question 8

الى مَن يأوي في الليل و اين يبيت؟!

Answer 8

Where will he find shelter for the night?

Question 9

إنّ له علينا حق الضيافة و إنّ له علينا حق الإنسان! لتذهبْ احداكما و تأخذه معها.

Answer 9

We owe him the right of hospitality and we owe him the right of a human being. One of you should go and bring him.

Question 10

فَجَاءَتْهُ إِحْدَاهُمَا تَمْشِي عَلَى اسْتِحْيَاءٍ قَالَتْ إِنَّ أَبِي يَدْعُوكَ لِيَجْزِيَكَ أَجْرَ مَا سَقَيْتَ لَنَا ۚ

Answer 10

Then one of the girls came to him, walking modestly. She said: ‘My father invites you that he might repay you for the wage of your drawing water for ys’

Question 11

و عرف موسى امامها لئلاّ يقع نظره عليها و مشى موسى مشى الكرام

Answer 11

Musa (a.s.) realised that Allah (s.wt) had answered his prayer and had turned towards him so he should not refused the offer. Musa (a.s.) walked, a noble manner of walking.

Question 12

ولما وصل الى الشيخ سأله عن اسمه و وطنه و خبره.

Answer 12

When they arrived, Musa (a.s.) was asked his name and from what homeland he has come.

Question 13

و اخبر موسى خبره و قصّ عليه قَصّته.

Answer 13

Musa (a.s) informed him of his situation and narrated his story to him.

Question 14

سمع الشيخ كل ذلك بصبر و هدوء، و لما انتهى موسى من قصّته:

The old man listened patiently. When Musa (a.s.) had finished his story he said:

قَالَ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ نَجَوْتَ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ ‎﴿٢٥﴾‏

Answer 15

Do not fear. You have escaped from the unjust people
