Flashcards
(14 cards)
A long period of time passed in this manner.
The people of Egypt held onto their words. They recognised the virtues of the kinaaniyeen.
And those kinaani’s, the ones known as Bani Israeel were people of honour and wealth.
However, the conditions changed after that. Their character became corrupted and they stopped the call towards Allah (s.w.t) and their calling of the creation towards Allah (s.w.t). They drowned in the dunya.
And the people’s attitude towards them changed also. They started looking towards them in a different manner than the way they used to look at their forefathers.
And they became like everybody else. They never used to differentiate between people except by the lineage.
And the people became jealous of the rich one from amongst them. And they looked down upon the poor one from amongst them.
The people of Egypt saw them as strangers who came from another city.
And they had no right in Egypt.
The people of Egypt believed that they were the people of the country and that Egypt belonged to the Egyptians.
And some of the people of Egypt saw Yusuf (a.s) to be a stranger who has come from Kinaan.
And the governor of Egypt has bought him.
And it is not right for a kinaani that he rules Egypt.
And the majority of people forgot the virtue of Yusuf (a.s) and his generosity and his favour.
