و بعد مدة مات يعقوب فحزن عليه يوسف و حزن عليه اهل مصر
And after a certain period of time, Yaqoob (a.s) passed away, so Yusuf (a.s) grieved upon him and the people of Egypt grieved upon him.
و دفنوا الشيخ في مصر و كأنهم فقدوا اباهم
And they buried the sheikh in within Egypt and it was like they had lot their father.
و بعد مدة مات يوسف ايضا فكان يوما على اهل مصر شديدا
And after a certain period of time, Yusuf (a.s) passed away also, therefore that day was also an intense day for the people of Egypt.
و حزن عليه اهل مصر حزنا شديدا و بكو عليه بكاء طويلا
And the people of Egypt grieved upon him immensely and they mourned upon him for a long period of time.
و نسي الناس احزانهم و كأنهم لم تصبهم مصيبة قبل هذا اليوم
And people forgot their sorrows and it was like a calamity had never hit them before this day.
و دفنوا يوسف ايضا و عزّى بعضهم بعضا فكانوا في يوسف سواء
And they also buried Yusuf (a.s) and they consoled one another, because in the matter of Yusuf (a.s), they were all equal.
كل صغير فقد اباه و كل كبير فقد اخاه
And every young person had lost his father and every elder person has lost his brother.
و مشى الناس الى اخوة يوسف و ابائهم يعزّمونهم
And the people went to the brothers of Yusuf (a.s) and their sons and they were consoling them.
و يقولون لهم: ايها السادة! ليست خسلرتكم اليوم اكبر من خسارتنا نحن
And they were saying to them (people to the brothers): ‘Oh leaders, your loss today is not greater than our loss that we are in today’.
فقد فقدنا في دفين اليوم اخا شفيقا و سيّدا رحيما و ملكا عادلا
For sure, in today’s burial, we have lost a compassionate brother and a merciful leafer and a just ruler.
هو الذي اراح العباد و ازال الظلم من البلاد
He is the one who gave comfort to his servants and he wiped out oppression from the cities.
هو الذي منع الكبير يظلم الصغير و منع القوي يأكل الضعيف
And he is the one who prevented the big from oppressing the small and he prevented the strong from eating the weak.
هو الذي اغاث المظلوم و اجار الخائف و اطعم الجائع
And he is the one who helped the oppressed and he protected the fearful and fed the hungry.
هو الذي هدانا الى الحق و دعانا الى الله و كنا قبل قدومه بهائم لا نعرف الله و لا نعرف الآخرة
And he is the one who guided us towards the truth and called us towards Allah (s.w.t). And before his coming, we were like wild animals. We did not recognise Allah (s.w.t) nor did we recognise The Hereafter.
هو الذي اغاثنا ايام المجاعة فكنا نأكل و نشب و الناس يمونون في البلاد الإخرى
He was the one who helped us through the days of famine so we were eating and eating to our satisfaction whilst the people were dying in other cities.
انا لا ننسى ملكنا الكريم ابدا و لا ننسى ايها السادة انكه اخوته و اهل بيته
Surely we will never forget our noble king. And oh leaders, we will never forget that you are his brothers and the people of his household.
و كم فرح بكم سيدنا يوم قدومكم الى مصر و كم فرحنا بفرح سيدنا
And how happy our leader was with you on the day of your coming to Egypt and how happy we were with the happiness of our leader.
فالبلاد بلادكم و انا لكم ايها السادة كما كنا في حياة سيدنا
So the cities are your cities and surely we will be for you oh leaders like we were in the life of our leader.
