Otis feels sorry for them being locked up all the time. He knows what it’s like being locked up.

- Then she would sweep, clean up, and even arrange some of the shelves at Gertrude’s Pet
- Then, she and Winn Dixie would go over to the Herman W. Block Memorial Library and talk to Miss Franny and listen to her tell us a story
- Lastly, they would go to Gloria Dump’s yard where Gloria Dump would make Opal a peanut butter sandwich and a cup of coffee (half coffee and half milk) and give Winn Dixie a spoon full of peanut butter. They would talk and Opal would tell Gloria a story

Because Stevie (&Dunlap) would say that Gloria Dump was a witch and they wouldn’t listen to her said she wasn’t AND he said that Otis was retarded which she again defended Otis
