What are staple crops?
Crops that are always on high demand, especially grains.
What are cash crops?
Crops grown for sale and exporting.
What is substistence farming?
Crops that are only grown for the family and NOT for sale.
What occupations formed the main economy of new England?
Fishing, whaling, shipbuilding, and trade,
What is export?
Products grown or made to sell to other countries.
What is the French and Indian war?
The French and the British fought this war for control of North America.although victorious, the war nearly made Britain go bankrupt.
What are the navigation acts?
The set of laws regulating trade between Britain and the American colonies.
What is Parliament?
The legislature of Great Britain.
What land did the French and British fight over in the French and Indian war?
The Ohio river valley, and the French territory west of the Appalachian Mountains.

The treaty that ended the French and Indian war.
What land did the French lose to the British?
All the land east of the Mississippi River. The Mississippi River became the new border of British territory in North America.
Why did Britain tax the American Colonies?
To pay off the debts from winning the French and Indian war.
Why did the colonies believe Britain had no right to tax them.
Because Britain didn’t show any taxation without representation.
