  • Greeks fled to Rome when the Turks captured their city of constanyinopole and they took many manuscripts and scholars and that brought a lot of interest to Greek culture.
  • Italy was a very rich place and rich merchants and princes payed artists for beautiful pieces of art, these people were known as patrons.
  • Italy became one of the crossroads of the world.
