Ruled Germany. He captured Lombards city to help capture Italy. Defeated by the Lombard League.

Brought Christianity to Ireland. Made schools that helped advance to a new culture.

Came to throne of Wessex. Defeated by Danes and then made treaty in order to destroy them back.

Pope who was the strongest of all medeival popes. Greatly increased churches power.
