The four steps to accentuation:

  1. clue: think sílabas
  2. clue: think particular type of sílabas
  3. clue: think 3 types of words by sílabas
  4. clue: add accent each word 4 rules for type of word

1) Separar por sílabas
2) Identificar la sílaba tónica (stressed syllable ie sounds stronger)
3) Identificar si la palabra es AGUDA (stressed sílaba = last) LLANA (stressed sílaba = 2nd last) ESDRÚJULA (stressed sílaba = 2nd last)
4) Acentuar según las reglas de acentuación
- aguda = + tilde IF word end in vowel + N + S eg París
- llana = + tilde IF not end on vowel + N + S eg lápiz
- Esdrújula = + tilde to ALL
