Lining of duct is simple columnar/cuboidal
What do acinar cells secrete?
Are the pacreatic acini the endocrine or exocrine part of the pancreas?
What is the endocrine part of the pancreas?
Islets of Langerhans
What does the pancreatic acinar glands secrete?
bicarbonate cells that neutralize acid in chyme that duodenum receives from stomach
Why does the pancreas secrete inactive proteases?
- it would eat itself
- prevent digestion of cellular proteins
