The purpose of this order is to establish the procedures for making a safe forced entry into a structure or vehicle. Forced entries can be made by any ____ ______. This order supports the Sheriff's Office Core Value of "Always Improving."
A _____ ______ is anytime an employee enters a structure or vehicle without the permission of the owner/occupant and physical force is necessary to gain entry into the structure or vehicle.
________ Forced Entry should be conducted when the need to enter a structure of vehicle has been determined to effectively execute a search warrant in order to preserve evidence or apprehend suspect. It should be noted that this need should never outweigh the safety to the officers trying to execute that warrant
An ________ Forced Entry should be conducted when the need to enter a structure or vehicle is immediately necessary because of exigent circumstances.
Examples of circumstances which might require such an entry could be:
1. To rescue an individual inside a residence because of accident, injury, or a serious medical emergency. The use of Fire/Rescue as a resource in this capacity is applicable; or
2. In defense of life with the justifiable use of deadly force per Florida State Statute.
A _____ _____ or incident does not constitute the need for an emergency forced breach. If the incident cannot be resolved using traditional methods and resources, the S.W.A.T. Team should be requested. The safety of the employees should not be compromised because of the threat of suicide.

When a detective/officer is attempting to serve a search warrant requiring entry into a structure, he will adhere to Operational Order, 05.03, Search Warrants, and complete a _____ ______ ______.

When serving an arrest warrant, the detective/officer will attempt to gain compliance and apprehend the suspect. Other arrest options should be considered (surveillance and arrest or ruse, etc.). In the event that the suspect refuses to comply and a barricade situation arises, _____ will be requested.
