INJURY or PROPERTY DAMAGE

What's the DIFFERENCE between a MINOR and MAJOR ACCIDENT?

MINOR ACCIDENT
accident that results in EITHER MINOR to MODERATE damage to dept vehicle civilian vehicle or property
NO INJURIES or MINOR injuries to CIVILIAN and/or MEMBERS

MAJOR ACCIDENT
accident that results in EITHER SIGNIFICANT damage to Dept vehicle,civilian vehicle or private property. Any accident that results in SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH to member or civilian

What should the PRELIMINARY REPORT given to DISPATCH contain when(the rig) is involved in an ACCIDENT/INCIDENT?

GIVE
1)assigned command/facility of unit involved
2)Location
Request additional assistance
Indicate UNIT was RESPONDING or RETURNING from a box
# and type of INJURIES
IF involved unit was transporting a patient request ambulance
ADVISE
whether accident is MAJOR or MINOR
whether APPARATUS is REMAINING at scene or PROCEEDING

If you MUST move an apparatus or a vehicle that are involved in an major accident w/ each other, what markings shall be done? 6.5.2

LOCATION of tires of all vehicles involved will be marked with a "T"
Indicating:
A)Outside edge of tire
B)Center line of axle of EACH WHEEL
IF a TRACTOR TRAILER/large vehicle Involved the 4 CORNERS of the vehicle shall be marked
Markings are done in LUMBER CRAYON,chalk or any other means

OFFICER in charge at time of accident
OPERATOR of apparatus at time of accident
IF INJURED THEN
ANOTHER MEMBER at scene gathers info required for CD19

More than TWO CIVILIAN PEDESTRIANS/BICYCLIST(pedals)
More than FOUR PEOPLE INJURED
