Clinic Presentation of gonorrhoea?

asymptomatic
septic arthritis
complications if untreated

Pathology of N. Gonorrhoea

-pili attach to mucosal cells of the urethra and vagina
-evades mucosal IgA antibodies via IgA protease
-endocytosed by cells
-kills cilitaed cells
-cal also invade submucosa and enter bloodstream, where it can collect in synovial fluid causing septic arthritis
