Dehiscence of incision (tension, chronic infection, slow healing)
Stenosis of horizontal ear canal
Self trauma
Indications: Vertical Ear Canal Resection
Vertical ear canal severely diseased
Horizontal ear canal NORMAL
Trauma or avulsion
Indications: TECABO
Chronic disease
End stage ear disease
Narrow horizontal canal
Neoplasia of ear canal
Extensive middle ear disease
Complications: TECABO
Hemorrhage
Facial nerve paralysis
Horner’s
Inner ear infection
Loss of hearing
Surgical indications for septic otitis media/interna
Lack of improvement with medical management after 4-6 weeks
Neurologic signs requiring tympanic decompression
