Joint Disease Flashcards
(11 cards)
What are the radiographic findings of CCLD?
Joint effusion displaces fat pad
Secondary OA
Cranial tibial displacement
What is the principle behind a TPLO?
Eliminates stifle instability by reducing tibial plateau angle to ~6 degrees so CCL becomes obsolete
Requires internal fixation
What are the non-surgical treatment options for CCLD?
PRP
Rehab
Stifle orthoses
Gait: Medial Compartment Disease
Short strided
Decreased elbow ROM
Bilateral, symmetric
Diagnostics: Medial Compartment Disease
PE
Rads (50-70% accurate)
CT
Arthroscopy
PE: Medial Compartment Disease
Abnormal stance
Pain on hyperflexion, hyperextension, and medial compartment palpation
Crepitus, reduced ROM, swelling
What is the surgical treatment for Medial Compartment Disease?
Arthrosopic debridement
Ulnar ostectomy for incongruity (long ulna/short radius)
What is the non-surgical treatment for Medial Compartment Disease?
Arthritis management!!!!
What are the contributing factors to OA?
Provide the stepwise approach to OA management
Calculate calories for weight loss
