Ethos
Appeal based on the character of the speaker (works best with a wavering audience)

Based on logic and reason; involves facts, figures, statistics, rational appeals (works best for hostile, supportive, or wavering audiences)
Pathos
Emotional appeal to audience; plays on pity, fear, anger, patriotism, humor, etc.)
Kairos
Timing is perfect for the situation
Hasty Generalization
leaping to a conclusion; unrepresentative
Ad hominem
Attacking the person rather than the issue
Post hoc
False cause; assumed cause-effect relationship that may not be accurate
False analogy
analogy is too weak; the analogs are too different to be wealthy of comparison
Non sequitor
something that does not follow; an illogical conclusion that does not follow the promise
Either/or fallacy
an oversimplification of the issues which leaves only 2 diametrically opposed view points
Appeal to questionable authority
the use of faulty, overtly biased or questionable source
Begging the question
premise is merely an assumption, so the conclusion may not me true
Red herring
an irrelevant topic to divert attention from the topic at hand
