What is it used for?

A

Used as a laxative, but mostly used as an anticonvulsant or to stop contractions in pre-term labor or during labor and delivery.
Main use is for Magnesium deficiency

A

Toxicity (flushed skin, sedation, confusion, intense thirst, and muscle weakness)

Contraindications

A

cardiac disease, undiagnosed abdominal pain, intestinal obstruction, or fecal impaction.
