Hydrant School
- Safest place to take a hydrant if not behind it? Right between the 5" connection and the 2 1/2" ports. - What are the different sizes of hydrant ports? (5, 4 1/2, 4, 2 1/2) - How do you know the Hydrant is draining? (Put hand against port and you will feel the suction)
32
Where is Stanley High School?
River Road
33
What is the address of Roosevelt Elementary School? What is the address of Franklin Middle School? What is the address of Memorial Hospital?
..
34
What does the engine cooling knob on the pump panel do?
- Bleed off pressure from the pump. - Recirculates water from the pump to the engine to help reduce the engine temp. - 3/8 Cinflux Tubing is used - You can keep it on all the time.
35
What does the pump cooling knob on the pump panel do?
- Bleed water out of the pump and back into the tank, helps keep the pump cooled off. - Working off the tank just keep it going - Only time you would want to used it is if drafting.
36
What does the booster reel blowout on the pump panel do?
- Crack it and it keeps booster reel from freezing. | - Can also just crack the nozzle on the booster reel.
37
What is Captain Dorenbush' opinion on parking in the road?
If you are going to take part of the road take all of the road.
38
What are keys when driving code?
- Ride the center line when you have oncoming traffic. - Drive the speed limit. - It's not our emergency so we need to make sure to be safe and not create a bigger problem. - When driving through intersections make sure to slow down almost to a stop and look both ways. - When arriving on scene make sure to park so the ambulance can be closest to the house/building. - Make sure to leave engine running and the lights on. - Make sure to chock wheels every time. - Make sure to use cones if appropriate (Ex. in traffic)
39
Do we need to oil our primer?
No, it comes pre oiled so we don't have to oil it.
