25
#5 Pre Incident Plan (Pre-Fire)
- Target hazards info for us. - Opportunity to create positive relationships with business owners and citizens. - Steps 1. Call and Schedule (Be Flexible with Times) 2. Explain we are not fire code enforcement (Sell it to them)
26
#5 Pre Incident Plan (Pre-Fire)
-2 Elements 1. Site Inspection (Site Plan) Exterior 360 2. Building Inspection (Building Plan) (Gas, Main Electrical Panel, Stairs, Doors, Size)
27
#5 Pre Incident Plan (Pre-Fire)
ERS Info - Occupancy, Contacts, Inspections, Pre Fire Plans - Can print this info and update info during pre fire meeting.
28
#14, 6 Positions ICS/IMS System
Incident Commander (PIO, Liason, Safety Officer) - Operations (Boots on Ground) - Planning (Figure out what to do next) - Logistics (Get Resources) - Finance (Future Needs $) - Law Enforcement (Post 9/11)
29
#15 Scene Size Up
- Concise Information - Paint the Picture - Relay obvious things that you see that are obvious. - Essential Communication (Accuracy, Full Information, Concise, Transmit Information)
30
EFVG
- On computer - Hybrid Cars Shortcut (Hybrid Cars)
31
Scene Size Up Ex.
Engine 91 on scene of a 2 car accident, significant rear damage to one car, initiating command and checking for injuries.
32
TRIPOD
- Transitional - Rescue - Investigating - Preparing - Offensive - Defensive
33
``` ###???? Ongoing Mental Size Ups ```
- Need to constantly revaluate your size up. - Reassess your assignment Ex. Ventilation - Watch each other -Really important to do size up on and off the job.
34
#17, Explain the questions to be answered during size up.
- What has happened? - What is happening? - What is going to happen?
35
#18, Hazard Assessment
- Who, what when, why? - Is it changing? Is it going to change? - Ex. Davis High School Natural Gas Leak Cottonwood Tree Ex. Snakes, Poison Ivy, Hornets Nest -Look up down and all around
36
#19, Building Construction Scene Size Up
- Balloon Frame? Windows same dimension? - Basement? - Mexican Style Tile Roof? (Breakable)
37
#10 Define the three levels (Strategic, Tactical, and Task) of fireground operations and explain your responsibility in regard to those levels. Strategic
- Determine appropriate strategy - Setting of priorities - Determine overall incident objective - Develop Incident Action Plan Ex. Offensive, Defensive, Transitional
38
#10 Define the three levels (Strategic, Tactical, and Task) of fireground operations and explain your responsibility in regard to those levels. Tactical Level
- Direct operational activities toward specific objectives. - Make decisions within boundaries of objectives. Ex. We are going to use Deck Gun, or go Interior etc..
39
#10 Define the three levels (Strategic, Tactical, and Task) of fireground operations and explain your responsibility in regard to those levels. Task Level
- Task level is where the work is actually done. - These tasks should accomplish tactical objectives. Ex. Take hydrant, put out outriggers, get water supply, pull preconnect
40
#20 Demonstrate an understanding of your responsibilities regarding incident size ups as the driver/operator of an apparatus.
Driver has a unique role and perspective as 1st in pumper. - Viewpoint for Officer - Access and Apparatus Placement - On approach go nice and slow to give office a long viewpoint. - Apparatus placement for max length of preconnnect.
41
#20 Demonstrate an understanding of your responsibilities regarding incident size ups as the driver/operator of an apparatus.
- Driver is critical in continual size up because watching it from a distance. - Need to communicate water level. - Rescue, can be considered 2 in 2 out.
42
#20 Demonstrate an understanding of your responsibilities regarding incident size ups as the driver/operator of an apparatus.
Things to Note and Communicate - Change in smoke - Change in Fire - Roof Sagging
43
#22 Identify the basic strategic modes addressed by the acronym TRIPOD
TRIPOD ``` T = Transitional Attack R = Rescue I = Investigate P = Preparing O = Offensive Attack D = Defensive Attack ```
