- diet = available at all times - food intake = determined by energy need of animal
what is the issue with hgih fat diets and ad libitum
- increased fat = increased metabolized energy content - compared to control duet so aniaml = eill eat less as they need less
so less intake of other nutrients
what is isocalorix exchnage
- effect of fat addition interpreted
- work out the amount of energy of fat you want to add - and take away the same amount of energy contributed from just the card
- therefor similar nutrient intake - in high fat and low fat

- restrict amount of food - compared toad libitum - ensure nutritional adequacy

whats meal feeding
meal feed give food at certain times
i.e. dogs - 1 meal per day
minipigs - 2 meals - morning and afternoon
what is pair feeding
matching food intake from one group to the control group
- this can be used if the treatment is added to food - has a bad taste cause decreased food intake - amtch control group to only eat that same amount of food
