Are end of life care and palliative care the same thing?

What is a very important thing to do with regards to confirming a patient is receiving end of life care and your arse?

Locate and read patients care plan if possible.

What are the crieteria that must be met if administering medication a patient may have been prescribed in case of severe distress?


a) clear written instructions
AND
b) patient is in severe distress
AND
c) no other suitable personnel are available to administer medicine
AND
d) The PRF is sent to audit, along with a note describing the circumstances. Person administering the treatment is responsible for ensuring this happens.
