What is the preparation of ipratropium?

In an ampoule containing 0.5mg in 2ml.

What is the mechanism of action of ipratropium?

Is an anticholinergic agent.It inhibits the action of acetylcholine, the transmitter agent released from the vagus nerve.Ipratropium reduces parasympathetic mediated bronchospasm

What are the indications for use of ipratropium?

Treating bronchospasm

Are there any contraindications with the use of ipratropium?

Only Universal ones

What is the onset of effect of ipratropium?

3 - 5 minutes

What is the duration of effect of ipratropium?

1 - 6 hours

What are some common adverse side effects of ipratropium?
