THE WORD IS APPARENTLY COMPOUNDED WITH अन्त m. HERE. BUT I AM NOT SURE WHAT THE FORCE OF THIS WOULD BE OTHER THAN “the end of the V.” (?) JHA TRANSLATES AS “on the occasion of meals”. PERHAPS THE IDEA IS THAT THE GUEST ARRIVES JUST AS THE SACRIFICE IS COMPLETED AND THE FOOD IS STARTING TO BE SERVED.
