شَطْرَ
Meaning: Direction, portion, part.

تَطَوَّعَ

Meaning: Variation, alternation, diversification.

(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:164)
الأَسْبَاب
Meaning: The means, the connections, the bonds.
Word Type: Noun (Masculine, Plural).
Context: This word appears in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:166), where Allah describes how, on the Day of Judgment, those who were followed will disown their followers, and all ٱلْأَسْبَٰبَ (connections, bonds, or means) between them will be cut off. كَرَّة
Meaning: Return, repetition, second chance.

حَسَرَات
Meaning: Regrets, sorrows, deep remorse.
Word Type: Noun (Feminine, Plural).
Context: This word appears in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:167), where Allah describes the intense regret and sorrow of the disbelievers on the Day of Judgment. أَلْفَيْنَا
Meaning: We found, we came across, we discovered.

بَاغٍ
Meaning: Transgressor, wrongdoer, one who exceeds limits.

لَّيْسَ ٱلْبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ ۖ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ فِى ٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَحِينَ ٱلْبَأْسِ ۗ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ ۖ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:177)
القِصَاص
Meaning: Retribution, legal punishment, equal justice.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْقِصَاصُ فِى ٱلْقَتْلَى ٱلْحُرُّ بِٱلْحُرِّ وَٱلْعَبْدُ بِٱلْعَبْدِ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰ بِٱلْأُنثَىٰ ۚ فَمَنْ عُفِىَ لَهُۥ مِنْ أَخِيهِ شَىْءٌۭ فَٱتِّبَاعٌۭ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَأَدَآءٌ إِلَيْهِ بِإِحْسَٰنٍۢ ۗ ذَٰلِكَ تَخْفِيفٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَرَحْمَةٌۭ ۗ فَمَنِ ٱعْتَدَىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَهُۥ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:178)
أَدَآء
Meaning: Payment, fulfillment, giving back.

(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:178)
مُوص
Meaning: One who makes a will, a testator. (Will-maker)
Word Type: Noun (Masculine).
Context: This word appears in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:182), where Allah addresses situations regarding inheritance and the fairness of a will. The verse explains that if a person suspects unfairness or wrongdoing in the will of a مُوصٍ (testator), they may take steps to correct it justly. أَيَّامًۭا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍۢ ۚ فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍۢ فَعِدَّةٌۭ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ ۚ وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُ فِدْيَةٌۭ طَعَامُ مِسْكِينٍۢ ۖ فَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًۭا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌۭ لَّهُۥ ۚ وَأَن تَصُومُوا۟ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:184)
الرَّفَث
Meaning: Intimate relations, obscene talk, indecent speech.
Word Type: Noun (Masculine).
Context: This word appears in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:187), where Allah discusses the permissibility of marital relations during the nights of fasting in Ramadan. ٱلرَّفَثُ refers to intimate relations, as well as any indecent or obscene speech, particularly in the context of interactions between spouses. أُحِلَّ لَكُمْ لَيْلَةَ ٱلصِّيَامِ ٱلرَّفَثُ إِلَىٰ نِسَآئِكُمْ ۚ هُنَّ لِبَاسٌۭ لَّكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لِبَاسٌۭ لَّهُنَّ ۗ عَلِمَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَخْتَانُونَ أَنفُسَكُمْ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَعَفَا عَنكُمْ ۖ فَٱلْـَٰٔنَ بَٰشِرُوهُنَّ وَٱبْتَغُوا۟ مَا كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ۚ
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:187)
تَخْتَانُون
Meaning: You deceive yourselves, you act dishonestly.
Word Type: Verb.
Context: This word appears in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:187), where Allah acknowledges that some people تَخْتَانُونَ (deceive yourselves) by secretly engaging in intimate relations during the nights of Ramadan before the rule was clarified. Allah, in His mercy, forgave them and allowed intimacy during the nights of fasting. This highlights Allah’s understanding and forgiveness for human weaknesses.
Verse:
عَلِمَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَخْتَانُونَ أَنفُسَكُمْ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَعَفَا عَنكُمْ ۖ فَٱلْـَٰٔنَ بَٰشِرُوهُنَّ وَٱبْتَغُوا۟ مَا كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:187)
بَاشِرُوهنَّ
Meaning: Have relations with them, be intimate with them.

تُدْلُوا
Meaning: Offer, present, use (in a deceptive manner).
