What did God tell Rebekah, Isaac’s wife, about her younger son Jacob?

One day Esau found Jacob cooking. Esau was hungry and asked for some of the stew. Jacob knew that this was his chance. He said, “First, give me your birthright.” Esau was so hungry that he agreed and even made an oath.
Why were Rebekah and Jacob able to fool Isaac?
He was blind
How was Jacob disguised?
He was disguised as Esau
How did Jacob explain how he got the animal so quickly?
Because God brought it to me.

He tricked him.
How did feel about this deceit? And what did he do?
God was not pleased but he still brought good out of the situation. Jacob was his chosen one and that choice would not be changed.
What did God mean when he said Jacob was his chosen one?
That it would be through Jacob and his family that the promise of a redeemer would be carried out.
What did Rebekah do when she found out that Esau planned to kill Jacob because of the stolen blessing?
She sent Jacob to stay with her brother Laban in Haran.
Describe Jacob’s dream.
On the way to Haran, one night Jacob lay down to sleep at a shrine using a stone as a pillow. He dreamed about a stairway leading from the ground to heaven with angels going up and down. In the dream, God appeared beside Jacob and renewed the promises he made to Abraham. Jacob woke and set up the stone as a memorial to mark the sacred place.
What is the stairway in Jacob’s dream referred to as?
Jacob’s ladder
What does Jacob’s dream symbolize?
The connection between heaven and earth and reassured Jacob of God’s presence.
Jacob built an altar at the sacred site of his dream. What did he name the place? What does the name mean?

Who did Jacob fall in love with?
Laban’s daughter, Rachel
What did Jacob agree to do in exchange for Rachel’s hand in marriage?
To work for Laban for seven years

He tricked Jacob - he sent his older daughter Leah instead of Rachel.
Did Jacob get to marry Rachel?
Yes, during this time it was normal for men to have more than one wife, so Jacob eventually was able to marry Rachel too. But he had to work for Laban for seven more years.
What did Jacob’s trail do for him?
Helped him become a better person.
