If customs change too quickly, people may feel that their culture is threaten. Some people worry that rapid communications is creating a new global culture that threatens diversity. They worry that we might end up with only a single world culture.

They changed culture.
Learning to grow crops and taming wild animals allowed people to rely on agriculture for food which let to people settling in one place which lead to development of cities which lead to laws and government.
