प्राङ्मुखोपविवेश ‘he sat facing east’ (transl.) AS IF FROM A ROOT √प्राङ्मुखोपविश् == प्राङ्मुख + उपविश् AND THIS MAY WELL BE RIGHT. प्राङ्मुखोऽपविवेश SEEMS UNLIKELY SINCE अपविश् SEEMS TO BE VERY, VERY RARE AND EVEN THEN OCCURS ONLY IN THE CS X.

THERE IS NO यदि HERE - THE NEGATIVE OF निष्ठुर IS अनिष्ठुर (aniṣṭhura अनिष्ठुर a. Not harsh or cruel.)
SO:
‘The gift of wishes, etc., to K. - whatever was cruelly said - (WAS) all God’s work - otherwise how could she speak thus?’
