HERE SEEMS == ‘a shadow-catcher’ == A MEMBER OF A CLASS OF BEINGS WHOSE POWER IS TO CATCH OTHER BEINGS SIMPLY BY TOUCHING THEIR SHADOW. THE WORD IS MASC. BUT IT REFERS HERE TO A FEMININE DEMON, SIṂHIKĀ, WHO IS ONE OF THEM.
