== ‘and the mountain, having gone INTO the surface of the earth to the point of (making) level ground (of its location), (itself normally) raised up to a height of 30 yojanas’
ALL OF THIS THE RESULT OF HANUMAN HAVING USED THE MOUNTAINTOP AS A SPRINGBOARD - SINCE EVERY ACTION HAS AN EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTION

(1) Prasravaṇa is the name of the mountain where Rāma is staying.
(2) The (transl.) assumes the monkeys are kissing their own tails. Seems more likely (?) they are kissing Hanuman’s tail (which got burned and then healed, if you recall). But either way the whole idea of monkeys kissing monkey-tail seems odd. I just don’t know enough about monkeys.
