A
  • position victim
  • remove debris from mouth
  • measure section tip (measure from corner of mouth to earlobe)
  • check to make sure it’s working
  • suction in a sweeping or figure 8 motion
  • suction as you pull out

A

-tongue is the most common cause of airway obstruction in an unconscious person
-to keep air passage from being block, follow protocols and use oropharyngeal (oral) airways (OPAs)

A

Measure Nostril to earlobe or corner of the mouth to earlobe
Diameter that corresponds with thr pinky finger
Wet it, lubricate it
Insert into left nostril
Can use if conscious, and gag reflex
If base if skull fracture, don’t use
