HSPS Flashcards
When are all HSPS functions enabled?
When Rx < 1%Δk/k shutdown.
Who can approve the defeat of MFW isolation?
The Ops Director.
What is required for an HSPS train to be considered operable per T.S. 3.5.1?
It must have a vital power supply.
When is a single HSPS train considered INOPERABLE?
If FW-V-16/17 are pinned OPEN.
What happens if one HSPS train is INOPERABLE?
Place it in actuated within 72 hours or be in HSD in 12 hours.
What happens if both HSPS trains are INOPERABLE?
Restore one in 1 hour or be in HSD in 6 hours.
What is the logic for HSPS actuation?
2 of 4 logic; channels are de-energized to actuate, and trains are energized to actuate.
Which power supplies correspond to HSPS channels?
Channel 1 = VBA, Channel 2 = VBB, Channel 3 = VBC, Channel 4 = VBD.
What triggers MFW isolation?
> 97.5% power or <600# pressure.
When does the low-pressure defeat pushbutton work?
Only when pressure is <750# or already actuated.
What must be done after defeating the HSPS signal?
Take EF-V-30’s to manual and back to AUTO on Foxboro to clear the HSPS signal.
What are the power supplies for FW block valves FW-V-92A/B and FW-V-5A/B?
1A/1B ESV MCC respectively.
What are the power supplies for FW regulation valves FW-V-16/17A/B?
FW-V-16A = “F” DC, FW-V-17B = “E” DC.
What happens at 70% power if there is a loss of power to 1P 480V?
FW-V-5A/92A lose power, FW-V-17A fails to 50% OPEN, “A” OTSG rises rapidly until MFW isolation, then lowers until EFW actuates on 10” level, and EF-V-30A/C maintains >25” setpoint.
