REMOTE SHUTDOWN Flashcards
(11 cards)
What is the Tech Spec requirement for “B” RSD indications?
Must have all “B” RSD indications OPERABLE. Restore in 30 days or be in HSBY in 6 hrs.
What is the basis for Tech Spec 3.5.7 regarding “B” RSD indications?
Provides the ability to place the unit in Safe Hot Shutdown.
What are the zones under App R consideration for Remote Shutdown?
Main Control Room, Relay Room, ESAS Room.
Where are the RSD panels and transfer switches located?
- RSD Panels: CB 322’ near RCP Power Monitors.
- “A” Transfer Switch: ESAS Room.
- “B” Transfer Switch: 1S 480V Room.
- “C” Transfer Switch: 322’ near RSD.
What happens to MU-P-1C and IC-P-1B during RSD transfer?
MU-P-1C controller in STOP on RSD panel B will TRIP if running prior to transfer. IC-P-1B in START position on Aux B panel will START.
What are the EF-V-30A/C and EF-V-B/D positions when transfer switches are used?
EF-V-30A/C are at 0%, and EF-V-B/D are at 25%.
What is a High Impedance Fault?
Insulation breakdown without a dead short, where current still flows, causing MCC/bus overload.
What is unique about the “C” RSD Transfer Switch?
It only has a switch for MU-P-1B.
How are RSD relays actuated?
RSD is ENERGIZE to actuate relays.
What manual actions are required to start EF-P-1 and EF-P-2A/B during RSD?
- EF-P-1: Manually OPEN MS-V-13A/B.
- EF-P-2A/B: Manually start at 1D/1E 4kV Breakers.
What happens to MUPs during RSD transfer?
RSD transfer of MUPs bypasses ES logic, so the pump will not auto start on ES.
