WASTE DISPOSAL - LIQUID Flashcards
(16 cards)
What happens if the Rad Monitor interlock is in DEFEAT and the rad monitor is de-energized?
The interlock will NOT actuate.
What action is required if RM-L-6 fails HIGH and WDL-V-257 sticks OPEN?
Terminate the release IAW C-1-1.
What is the RBAT Emergency Boration flowpath?
Through WDL-V-61 and the Batch Controller vs. BAMT through MU-V-51.
What happens on a High Alarm for RM-L-6/7?
WDL-V-257 CLOSES, but the release pump keeps running.
What is the valve lineup for a Liquid Waste Release?
WDL-V-257 FULL OPEN, WDL-V-124/125 throttled for flow control, WDL-V-128 FULL OPEN.
What happens if WDL-V-124/125 pressure loaded fails to max pressure?
The release would terminate on high rate.
What are the ODCM limits for public exposure at the boundary?
1.5 mR/quarter total body and 5 mR/quarter organ dose.
What is the maximum flow rate for Waste Transfer Pumps (WDL-P-6A/B/C)?
Do NOT exceed 160 gpm to prevent damage.
What components are required for system OPERABILITY?
1 Evap, 1 Condensate Demin, 1 WECST, and 1 Evap Condensate Pump.
Why should RC Evap NOT be used for Miscellaneous wastes?
It is required as a second source of boric acid for emergency boration per the COLR.
What conditions terminate a liquid waste release?
Loss of air, High RM-L-6/7, exceeding FT-84 setpoint, or insufficient MDCT dilution flow (FT-146).
How long must WECST be on recirculation before sampling for release?
8 hours.
What must run for the entire liquid waste release?
WDL-P-14A/B.
Why is timely rad waste processing of CCB important?
To reduce personnel exposure in the OOB (ALARA).
Can WDL-FR-84 radwaste release flowrate to plant effluent be monitored from the control room?
No, it cannot be monitored from the control room.
Where is the Decant Slurry control panel located?
On the West Wall adjacent to the Decant Pump Room at 281’ AB. Indication is ONLY at the Rad Waste Panel.
