VENTILATION - CONTROL BUILDING Flashcards
What floors does the Control Building Exhaust (CBE) system cover?
The CBE system covers the 2nd to 5th floors, excluding the patio, stairwell, and 1st floor.
What is the function of AH-E-17 in the Control Building ventilation system?
AH-E-17 is the normal supply fan; both AH-E-17 fans cannot run simultaneously, and dampers must be fully open to start with exhaust fans (AH-E-19) running.
What happens if AH-E-18 (emergency supply fan) trips?
If AH-E-18 trips, AH-E-19 (return fan) and AH-E-95 (2nd floor booster fan) also trip.
What is the start permissive for AH-E-19 (return fan)?
AH-E-19 starts automatically when AH-E-18 starts and is a start permissive for AH-E-17.
When does AH-E-95 (2nd floor booster fan) start automatically?
AH-E-95 starts automatically when AH-E-17 or AH-E-18 starts.
What does AOP-34 require if ventilation is off for more than 5 hours or cooling is off for more than 8 hours?
If ventilation is off for >5 hours or cooling is off for >8 hours and temperature limits are exceeded, initiate shutdown IAW Tech Spec 3.0.1.
What are the room temperature limits for the Control Building?
1P/1S = 95°F, A/C/E Inverters = 88.6°F, B/D/F Inverters = 86.5°F, and all other areas (including MCR) = 80°F.
What happens when RM-A-1 is in high alarm?
All fans trip except AH-E-19, and the operator must manually start AH-E-18, AH-E-90, and AH-E-91.
What happens during TMP (AIT) or 4# ESAS conditions?
All fans trip except AH-E-17, AH-E-19, and AH-E-95.
What is the inlet condition for the refrigerant cycle in the Control Building ventilation system?
The inlet to the compressor is low-pressure hot gas.
What must be running to start a Control Building Chiller (AH-C-4A/B)?
AH-E-3A/B Chilled Water Pump must be running.
