What British Acts does the 1st amendment respond to?
The stamp act which infringed on freedom of the press.
What liberties are you guaranteed in the 1st amendment?
What are your liberties limited by?
Freedoms of religion, speech and press
Limited by your infringing on others rights
What is the purpose of the 2nd amendment?
Protect our right to bear arms for our own protection
Does the 2nd amendment guarantee the right to own a gun for pleasure?
Allowed to have a gun if you get a license and pass a background check. Right can be taken away.
What does the 3rd amendment say?
What British Act is it in response to?
No soldiers allowed to live in someone’s home during a time of peace without the owner’s consent.

What British Act does it respond to?
Protection from unreasonable search without a warrant. Must be probable cause and state specifics of the search

How does the 5th amendment protect you against self-incrimination?
Prosecuting someone twice for the same crime

- Bail cannot be excessive
- Fines cannot be excessive
- punishment must be reasonable and fair for the crime committed
