James owed a debt to the people. He paid the debt with land given to him by King George. In honor of that they named the colony Georgia.

A religious movement to revive people's faith in God away from just rituals. It spread the idea that all people are equal in God's eyes. Paved the way for the American Revolution.

Slavery in America began in which colony and for what purpose?
Virginia to help in tobacco plantations. It soon spread to all the colonies but was most prevalent in the Southern Colonies.

How did the Atlantic slave trade work?
Slave traders brought cloth, guns and rum to West Africa to trade for human cargo. The slaves were then sold in the colonies.

Why did slaves have little hope of making a better life for themselves?
They were forced to work hard, usually in the fields, without hope of freedom. They were stuck at the bottom of society.

Fire. Houses were made of wood and had thatched roofs. Houses were lit by torches and candles.

English citizens. Thought they should have same rights given to all Englishmen - right to representative government give in Magna Carta(1215) and Bill of Rights (1689).

Magna Carta established that a king did not have absolute power to rule. Parliamnet
